Co-founder of Danger and Android-Andy Rubin has finally unveiled the Essential phone also known as PH-1[ PH-ONE] The phone may look like normal Android phone judging by design but you are looking at a true flagship device and is priced at around $700.
The phone comes bundled with a titanium frame, which is said to be tougher than aluminium and will not scratch or bend when you drop the phone. It has an elegant edge-edge display with corny gorilla glass 5 serving as protection. It’s a 5.7-inch LTPS device with an aspect ratio of 19:10 and a QHD resolution (1,312×2,560px).
There is a dual 13MP camera at the back- one RGB and the second monochrome. The 8MP front-facing camera can shoot in 4k @ 30fps video, 1080p @ 60fps and 720p @ 120fps just like the main camera. It also comes with essential accessories like a 360° camera that can be attached to the back of the phone where there are two pin magnetic connectors as well as essential phone dock which can charge the phone while serving as a dock.
In the performance side of things, the Essential Phone (PH-1) is powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage with no option to expand via MicroSD Card. It will boot Android operating system with a blend of Andy Rubin’s OS.
Connectivity options on the device include USB-C, WIFI Hotspot Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and Wireless charging port but unfortunately, the Essential Phone doesn’t have the essential 3.5mm audio jack. It is powered by 3040mAh battery. The Essential phone will cost $700 and will be available in the US for now.
