Best Calculator Apps For iPhone and iPad

Just the thought of downloading a calculator app sounds somewhat weird for an iPhone user. This is because an iPhone already comes with a calculator which gets the job done, at least for some.

Well, Although the calculator app on the iPhone is more than enough for some people calculating needs, there are still others out there with more features that make calculating a lot more easier and even look better.

This is why we’ve come up with this list of the best calculator apps available for the iOS platform. Without wasting any more of your time, let’s get right down to the list.

PhotoMath

From the name of the app, I’m sure you’ve already guessed it has something to do with photos and mathematics. Well, you guessed right. With PhotoMath, you can use your smartphone’s camera to solve mathematical equations and arithmetics. All you have to do is take a picture of the maths you’re trying to solve. The app will process it and give you an answer along with a detailed step and how it got the answers. The app supports many different languages. It has graphs and many more features to make maths calculation a whole lot easier. It’s just like having a personal math tutor in your pocket.

Calculator (By App Tower Inc)

If you love simplicity then you’d definitely like the calculator app by tower Inc. This doesn’t have many features but is pretty popular on the Apple store. It has lots of themes you can use to change the background of your calculator. Now, this isn’t that much of a deal but when you’re staring at the calculator app for long periods, you’ll appreciate the ability to change the themes and have different look.

It also supports lots of different popular languages. The app is free on the Apple app store however, it comes with ads and if want to remove the ads, you will have to get the paid version that costs $1.99.

MyScript Calculator

MyScript Calculator is a calculator app that will appeal to old-fashioned people like me who will value the book and pen way of calculating once im a while. MyScript Calculator turns your iPhone display into a blank piece of paper on which you can use to calculate anything you want.

Just like on a piece of paper, you can also scratch and re-write and it will calculate the new one immediately. It’s just like having an automatic calculator hidden underneath a piece of paper on your smartphone. Unfortunately, it is a paid app and you’ll have to pay $2.99 which isn’t that bad for what it can do. Definitely one app I’ll recommend.

Calculator+

Calculator+ just like the name implies is just a basic calculator with pretty much all the basic features and a little bit more hence the “+” in its name. Asides from having lots of scientific functions that help you get through mathematical equations faster, it also has lots of customisations which is something you hardly see in a calculator app. You can edit the font of the app, change the colour of the background, change the cursor colour and many other things. Definitely one of my favourite iOS calculator.

Tydlig

Tydlig is a calculator app for iOS that I would recommend to most people in the finance department or anybody dealing with percentage and tips calculation frequently. The app lets you edit any number on your workings as you go with graphs on calculations that require it. One thing I like about the app is the ability to export your workings in a high-quality PDAF format and even print it if you want the hard copy. The app costs $1.99 on the App App store which is pretty okay for a calculator app with its set of features.
