Design & Display
The mid-range smartphone comes in charming and elegant colours and according to the company, is inspired by the beauty of light and shadow. The body colour options are Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal. To deliver excellent comfort in your hand, it features a sleek and ultra-light body with 3D curved edges. The phone measures 7.8mm in thickness while weighing just 163 grams.
Built around the Huawei Y8p is an OLED dewdrop display that measures 6.3″ in size and features 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. This display spec promises a cinematic colour gamut and bright visual experience. Inside this display is the fingerprint reader used for biometric security.

Under the hood is the Kirin 710F chipset built on a 12nm process tech and features Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and an Octa-core 2.2GHz processor. The Huawei Y8p has the newly upgraded GPU Turbo 3.0 which covers popular games and reduces power consumption effectively. Software-wise, the Huawei phone runs on EMUI 10.1 custom skin on top of Android 10 OS. Despite running on Android, it does not come with any Google play services.

The Huawei Y8p sports an AI triple camera system that consists of a 48MP f/1.8 main lens with PDAF, an 8MP f/2.4 ultrawide angle lens with 120° FoV and a 2MP f/2.4 depth lens. There is an AI Algorithm inside the camera called “Super Night Mode”, with a maximum exposure time of 6 seconds, it allows the camera to take beautiful and clear night shots. Inside the dewdrop notch is a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
