Design and Display
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come with a clean and minimalist design reminiscent of last year’s Google Pixel 2. Both the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are designed with an aluminium frame which is protected with corny gorilla glass 5.
Just like the Google Pixel 2, the Pixel 3 smartphones have a single camera at the back followed by an LED flash and a fingerprint reader.
Both devices feature a tall OLED panel with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Google Pixel has a screen of 5.5-inch with a 1,080 x 2,160px resolution and is without a notch. The bigger Google Pixel 3 XL boasts a 6.3-inch screen with 1,440 x 2,960px resolution and up to 532ppi. It, however, comes with a deep notch that houses dual front cameras and a stereo speaker. Both phones also support HDR, Always On and colour modes.

In the camera side of things, nothing has changed from last year’s Pixel 2. There’s a single 12.2MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, OIS, Night Sight, Top Shot, and AI system that now helps to pick the best out of several shots.
At the front, you get dual cameras which consist of 8MP sensors each. A wide-angle 97° lens and a normal 75° lens. Both are digitally stabilized.
Performance
Under the hood, the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset. To conserve battery, Google downclocked the CPU to 2.5GHz for the big cores and 1.6GHz for the little cores.
Internally, they have 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage which cannot be expanded further as there is no SD card support. They run on Android 9.0 Pie with stock Android experience. Both phones are now waterproof with an IP68 rating.
Connectivity
Both phones come with a single sim slot, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 aptX HD, GPS/GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C. Fingerprint sensor (on the back); Stereo speakers at the front.
The battery is another major area in the Pixel 3 that is differentiated from the 3 XL. The Pixel 3 XL has a 3,430mAh battery capacity while Google Pixel 3 has a 2,915mAh battery. Both phones support wireless charging through the Pixel Stand which charges at 10W. However, the wired charging is faster as it charges at 18W.

If you are in the US, the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL will retail for around $800 and $900 respectively while in the UK, the Pixel 3 will cost between £739-£839 and the Pixel 3 XL will go for around £869-£969. In Europe, the Pixel 3 will set you back €860 for the 64GB variant and €960 for the 128GB one. The Pixel 3 XL is €960 and €1,060 respectively.
