Lenovo S5 Pro And K5 Pro Launched, Target Photography Enthusiasts

Lenovo today introduced two smartphones the Lenovo S5 Pro and K5 Pro, which are targeted at photography enthusiasts. The two phones also feature side-firing stereo speakers for music lovers and they are powered decent batteries with fast charging support.

Both phones come with great build quality with a metal unibody that has been sand-blasted for a satin finish. They are available in Pure Gold and Crystal Black colours. Both have a side-firing stereo speaker backed by SmartPA amps by NXP with Dirac support and a Fingerprint scanner at the back.

The Lenovo S5 Pro is built around a 6.2-inch IPS LCD Notched screen with 1080p resolution. The notch houses a 20MP camera and an infrared 3D face scanner. The 3D scanner will serve as security as well as to enhance your selfies. The Lenovo K5 Pro, on the other hand, is cheaper compared to the S5 Pro and It has a 6.0-inch with 1080p resolution as well. However, it does not come with a notch.

In the camera end, S5 Pro features a dual camera consisting of a 12MP sensor with 1.25µm pixels and a bright f/1.8 aperture plus a 20MP (f/2.6) secondary one that is capable of a 2x telephoto capturing. The 3D model is used for more advanced beautification effects as well as simulating studio lighting. You can shoot a 4K video at 30fps with the back camera while the front camera which also consists of a dual 16MP+ 5MP can only do 1080p video recording.

The K5 Pro is equally blessed with a dual 16MP+ 5MP camera at the back and same 16MP + 5MP selfie shooters at the front

Lenovo S5 Pro And K5 Pro Performance

Both the Lenovo S5 Pro and the K5 Pro are powered by the same Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage option. They run on Android 8.1 Oreo with Lenovo’s ZUI.

Connectivity, Pricing and Availability

Both phones have a hybrid dual SIM slot, you can use a single sim and a Micro Sdcard or two Sim cards. Connectivity Options on the Lenovo S5 Pro and K5 Pro include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.

While the Lenovo S5 Pro has a 3,500mAh battery, which can be charged at 15W, the K5 Pro is powered by a 4,050mAh that supports 18W QuickCharge 3.0.

The Lenovo S5 Pro can be available on October 23 at around CNY 1,300 ($190/€160) for the 6/64GB model while pricing for 6/128GB model hasn’t been announced yet. The Lenovo K5 Pro, on the other hand, will be priced at CNY 1,000 ($145/€125) for the 4GB/64GB variant while the 6GB/64GB will go for around CNY 1,100.
