Alcatel 7 Launched: Full Specs and Review

Alcatel 7 has been introduced by Alcatel, this is coming just weeks after the 5V budget-friendly smartphone also made its debut. The new Alcatel 7 is even cheaper and comes with nice features like the Alcatel-exclusive CloserTV.

It’s powered by the Helio P23 chip and an octa-core processor reaching a clocking speed of up to 2.5GHz. It boasts of a dual rear camera, Face Unlock feature and a tall 6-inch FHD+ display.

Design And Display

Even though it was made from Plastic, we can’t help but notice how sleek the device is and it reflects light beautifully. It comes with a dual rear camera and they can be seen at the top middle.

The dual cameras are vertically placed at the top middle with the fingerprint scanner coming underneath. It measures 8.6mm in thickness when you turn over to the sides and weighs 175g.

The front is pretty standard, Alcatel left out the notch we saw on the 5V and brought on the standard 18:9 aspect ratio screen. Although the top and bottom bezels are pretty thick.

It’s equipped with a tall 6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. This has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402 pixels per inch density offering immersive visuals. It also stretches up to 76.4% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware and Software

The Helio P23 chip from MediaTek does the number crunching underneath. It was built on a 14nm process technology and comes with an octa-core processor clocking at 2.5GHz. In the graphics department, the Mali-G71 MP2 graphics card does the job.

For multitasking, it comes with just 2GB of RAM space for your light apps. However, there’s a bigger storage space of 32GB ready to accommodate all files and apps. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Camera, Network And Connectivity

For photography, it’s equipped with dual 12MP + 2MP rear shooters with f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. There’s a dual-tone dual-LED flash as well. While the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.8 aperture and Face Unlock.

The Alcatel 7 supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It has support for Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm jack, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

Battery, Price And Availability

The Alcatel 7 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology. Alcatel 7 will be available on shopping stores, starting from $179 to $199, that’s about (N60,000 – N70,000).
