Glass meets metal in this sleek smartphone! The design of Idol 5 is worth talking about. With its slim 7.5mm metal shell and the curved 2.5D display. The device offers a solid, streamlined feel in your hand. The fingerprint scanner mounted at the back and the “IDOL” logo sure adds a touch of sophistication to the smartphone. The device measures 148 x 73 x 7.5 mm in dimension and weighs 155g.

Alcatel Idol 5 sports a 5.2-inch LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display, the company ditched the popular Corning Gorilla Glass for the Asahi Dragontrail Glass and an oleophobic coating. The display on the Idol 5 has lots of annoying bezels with just 69.3% screen to body ratio. The screen resolution of 1080x1920pixels has 423 pixels per inch.
HARDWARE and SOFTWARE
It’s a midrange device, so we weren’t expecting much as it houses the MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. For game power, it sports the ARM Mali-T720 GPU with 3GB of RAM for a smooth ride in gaming and multitasking. There’s a 16GB internal memory for saving your files which of course can be upgradeable to 128GB using microSD. The device runs on 7.1 Android Nougat operating system.
