Apple iPhones Released This Year to Feature Reverse Wireless Charging

Amid all the rumors and speculations about 5G, and coupled with all the efforts aimed at cutting bezels as much as feasible, reverse wireless charging, which is a more gimmicky trend, had emerged in the world of smartphones in 2018. Huawei Mate 20 Pro featured it as well as the newly released P30 Pro; Samsung joined the bandwagon with the Galaxy S10, and it now seems as if Apple is also toeing this same line.

A new report composed by Ming-Chi Kuo, a popular Apple analyst, recently sent out to investors claims that the phone maker is planning to include the wireless charging option in its upcoming iPhones to be released in fall 2019.

The Reverse charging tech to feature in 2019 Apple iPhones

This tech enables new iPhones to charge other iPhones, wirelessly, or the new AirPods that has Wireless Charging Case, along with any other Qi-compatible mobile device. Apparently, the not-so-gimmicky use case for this feature has to do with the new AirPods that has been assumed to be slow to charge other mobile devices, not forgetting you may be hesitant in depleting the iPhone battery, which carries out the charging quite rapidly.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Compeq will provide the boards of the battery, and STMicro will provide the two-way wireless charging controller for Apple. In order to ensure that this works, the battery capacity, as well as the battery boards for this year’s iPhones, are anticipated to come with bigger sizes. The successor to the iPhone XS Max might come with a 10 percent – 15 percent bigger battery, whereas the successor’s to the Apple iPhone XS  might grow by 20 percent – 25 percent. As for the sequel to the Apple iPhone XR, the device should only show a gain of 0 percent – 5 percent.
