Apple has finally debuted an updated version of its iPad models. The updates include the fourth generation of the iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch display and the second generation of the iPad Pro with an 11-inch display.
One of the highlight features of these iPad models is the camera system. This is strange considering the fact most companies barely pays attention to the camera department of their tablets. The new iPad Pro models now pack a dual-camera module at the back. The module consists of a 12MP f/1.8 shooter which was seen in the previous generation and the new 10MP f/2.4 ultrawide sensor. The camera has the capability of recording 4K videos at 60fps.
Apple continues to showcase its dedication towards AR with the new LiDAR scanner. This is a Time of Flight (ToF) depth sensor which is used to determine the distance of an object from the sensor. It is done by bouncing off laser off the object.
Underneath the iPad Pro models is the new A12Z Bionic chipset with an Octa-core CPU and an Octa-core GPU. Connectivity-wise, it comes with Wi-Fi 6 standard, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C and GPS. LTE is also an available option that comes with an e-SIM.
The 12.9-inch model packs a 36.71 watt-hour battery while the 11-inch model comes with a 28.65 watt-hour battery. According to the company, you’re guaranteed at least 10 hours of usage with WiFi network. Charging is via USB-C Power Delivery chargers.
Both iPad Pro models will available online starting from today in 30 countries. While retail stores will get it by next week. For the US market, the 11-inch iPad costs $799 (Wi-Fi model) and $949 (LTE model). Then for the 12.9-inch iPad, the Wi-Fi model starts at $999 and the LTE model at $1,149.
