Apple Releases iOS 18.4 with Expanded Apple Intelligence and New Features

Apple has officially rolled out iOS 18.4, bringing significant enhancements to Apple Intelligence and expanding its availability to new regions, including the European Union and India. The update also introduces support for more languages, making Apple’s AI-powered features accessible to a broader global audience. The newly supported languages include French (France, Canada), German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain, LATAM, US), Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and localized English for India and Singapore.

Expanded Apple Intelligence Availability

Apple Intelligence, Apple’s AI-powered suite, is now available on more devices, including iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Users with M1 and later iPads and Macs can also access the latest intelligence features.

For users with older devices that do not support iOS 18, Apple has also released iOS and iPadOS 16.7.11 and iOS and iPadOS 15.8.4, ensuring that older models continue to receive security updates and stability improvements.

New Features in iOS 18.4

One of the most notable additions in iOS 18.4 is Priority Notifications, which helps users manage important alerts efficiently. This feature prioritizes critical notifications and places them at the top of the notification stack, ensuring that urgent messages do not get lost among other alerts.

Another major update is the Image Playground, which now includes a Sketch style option for content generation. This feature allows users to create unique artistic visuals, further enhancing Apple’s creative AI capabilities.

Additionally, Visual Intelligence has been made available on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models, improving how users interact with images and text through AI-driven enhancements.

Other Apple Software Updates

Alongside iOS 18.4, Apple has also released updates for its other platforms:

  • iPadOS 18.4
  • macOS 15.4
  • watchOS 11.4
  • visionOS 2.4

The Apple Vision Pro has received an initial set of Apple Intelligence features through the visionOS 2.4 update. New features include Writing Tools, Image Playground, Genmoji, and Smart Reply, though they are currently available only in US English. Additionally, Apple introduced a dedicated Apple Vision Pro iOS app, which helps users access tips, spatial content, and app downloads remotely.

watchOS 11.4 Brings Smart Home and Notification Improvements

The watchOS 11.4 update introduces a new “Break Through Silent Mode” option. This feature allows important notifications to produce sound and haptic feedback, even when the Apple Watch is in silent mode. Additionally, the update includes Matter support, enabling users to control Matter-compatible smart home devices such as robot vacuums directly from their Apple Watch.

Beyond new features, watchOS 11.4 also includes bug fixes and system stability improvements, ensuring a smoother experience for Apple Watch users.

With the release of iOS 18.4 and its related updates, Apple continues to enhance its ecosystem with AI-driven innovations, improved user notifications, and better smart home integration. The expansion of Apple Intelligence to new regions and new language support marks a significant step toward making AI-powered features more inclusive. As Apple continues to refine its software, users can expect further advancements in usability, personalization, and overall experience across its devices.
