The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra has been officially launched. It’s the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphone. In this article, we’ll look at the Axon 40 Ultra as well as the Axon 40 Pro specifications, features, and pricing.

Axon 40 Ultra Specifications

The Axon 40 Ultra weighs 204 grams and measures 163.2 x 73.5 x 8.4mm. The device’s front design is one of its most notable features. Because it has an under-display camera, its OLED panel does not have a punch hole or a notch. The screen also has a 71-degree curvature on the edges.

The phone features a 6.81-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone comes in two colors such as black and silver colors.

The Axon 40 Ultra has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 primary camera with full-pixel omnidirectional autofocus and OIS. It has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 ultrawide camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto periscope camera with OIS.

The Axon 40 Ultra’s three 64-megapixel cameras can all shoot 8K videos. We have a 16-megapixel under-display camera with 2.24m large pixels for selfies.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset powers the Axon 40 Ultra. Up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage are available with the SoC. The MiFavor UI runs on top of Android 12 on the Axon flagship.

The Axon 40 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. Wireless charging is not supported on this device. It has a VC liquid cooling unit for heat dissipation, which covers 36,356mm2 inside the device.

The prices of the four Axon 40 Ultra variants are listed below.

Axon 40 Pro Specifications

The ZTE Axon 40 Pro features a dual-camera ring design on the back. The phone is 8.46mm thick and weighs 199 grams. Magic Night Black, Crystal Fog Blue, and Star Orange are some of the color options. The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

A 6.67-inch flexible curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) and 10-bit color depth is featured on the device. The panel has a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, and a peak brightness level of 1000 nits.

The centered punch-hole display has a contrast ratio of 3000000:1 and 4096 brightness levels. It also fully supports the DCI-P3 color space.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC powers the ZTE Axon 40 Pro. LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage are included with the chipset. A graphene-based cooling (thermal management) system is included in the handset. The operating system is MyOS 12 with Android 12.

On the back of the ZTE Axon 40 Pro is a quad-camera setup. A 108MP primary sensor with a 1/1.52-inch sensor size, an 8MP 120° ultra-wide-angle unit, a 2MP 4cm macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor make up the system. The phone has a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

A 5,000mAh battery powers the ZTE Axon 40 Pro. It supports 66W fast charging out of the box. 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C are among the connectivity options.
