Smartphone lovers will agree with me that 2016 was a good year of great innovations by many smartphone manufacturers, ranging from iPhone to Samsung, to HTC, to LG, to Gionee, to TECNO, to Infinix, to Innjoo, to Huawei, to Lenovo, to Itel, and a host of others. 2017 smells even more promising. I have compiled a list of the best smartphones to be launched in 2017, and this looks like the year will begin with a bang.
While lots of reviews are flying around about the best smartphones to be launched in 2017, we will provide pictorial evidence of these devices.
Here is a list of the best smartphones to be launched in 2017.
1. Apple iPhone 8
With the next year’s iPhone set to mark the 10th-anniversary of Apple’s smartphone lineup, speculation is rife that the firm has something big in store.
If these rumours are to be believed, Apple will skip the iPhone 7S in favour of the iPhone 8, which analysts are claiming will be the most radically redesigned iPhone yet with its ‘all-glass’ design and OLED screen. There’s also talk that the iPhone 8 will be the first to support wireless charging and a Touch ID sensor embedded in its display, while an all-new “Pro” model is rumoured to pack to feature an S7 Edge-style curved display and dual camera setup.
Apple’s so-called iPhone 8 is expected to debut in September 2017.
2. Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus
Samsung has confirmed that it’s coming, and online leaks have revealed what we can expect from the Galaxy S8.
Following in the footsteps of Apple’s iPhone, the Galaxy S8 will be the first smartphone to come with Samsung’s own artificial intelligence (AI) assistant built-in. That won’t be its only similarity to the iPhone, as rumour has it that the Galaxy S8 will also dump the headphone jack, in favour of audio over USB-C.
Further speculation points to a 2K-resolution AMOLED Edge display, baked-in IP68 certification, both fingerprint and iris scanners, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 power and a dual rear-facing camera setup. Hence, the reason Samsung Galaxy S8 has been picked as one of the best smartphones to be launched in 2017.
3. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (one of the best smartphones to be launched in 2017)
Given the fiery fiasco surrounding this year’s now-defunct Galaxy Note 7, one thing’s for sure about next year’s release: it (probably) won’t set on fire.
Beyond that, we don’t yet know much about the so-called Galaxy Note 8, although we can expect it to come with support for Samsung’s S Pen stylus, a built-in iris scanner and a 5.7in the display, with speculation pointing to a 4K resolution. Rumours also point to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and support for Google’s Daydream VR platform.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 likely will debut in August 2017.
4. OnePlus 4
The OnePlus 4 – which could arrive branded OnePlus 5 due to the fact that the number four is regarded as unlucky in Asia – is expected to be the highest-spec OnePlus smartphone yet.
The OnePlus 4 is expected to launch in May or June next year.
5. Nokia P1 (Android phone)
Nokia has confirmed that 2017 will be the year that it returns to the smartphone market, this time with Android-powered handsets in tow.
The Nokia P1 is tipped to be the firm’s first high-end Android device, and will reportedly offer IP68 water and dust resistance and be available in two sizes, 5.2in and 5.5in, each with QHD 2560×1440 AMOLED displays. With Android 7.0 on board, the Nokia P1 also looks set to arrive with support for Google’s Daydream VR platform.
Nokia’s P1 will launch in the first quarter of 2017.
There are definitely a host of other beautiful phones that will be termed ‘best smartphones to be launched in 2017’. I will keep updating this post as we get more info about other upcoming smartphones in 2017.
Smartphone users are badly waiting for Samsung Galaxy S8 edge. It will surely be the most advanced and user friendly smartphone of all times.
