Best Zip file extractor Apps for Android

As Android owners or users, you will need to have some cool Zip file extractor apps like the Zarchiver or 7zipper app. This is because every now and then we run into different files packages and documents both online and offline that have been compressed leading to the change of file format. Compressed files come in different formats which include the popular Zip and others like Rar, Tar, .7z etc.

Files are compressed for many reasons. First, it makes it possible to merge two or more files together. It also makes it possible to lock a file package with a password which will require that same password before seeing its contents. The file size is also reduced considerably when compressed.

These are just some of the Benefits of the various documents format we have. Now, when you receive these kinds of documents or downloads on your android device, you’ll need an app that can interact with the document, tell you if it is password locked or not, and bring out the files in the document.

We’ve gone through some Apps that do this which you download easily from the Google Play store.

Best Zip file extractor Apps for Android

Easy Unrar, Unzip & Zip

Easy Unrar is by far my favourite Zip file extractor on Android. The App is super lightweight at just under 5MB. It supports all the major documents out there like .Zip, .Rar, .7zip and RAR 5.

Easy Unrar is also super fast while compressing and unzipping – a 1GB video file can be extracted in under 3 minutes. Asides from the single zip compression, it also supports multi-part compression and AES encryption. The app is a great app if you want to unpack or unzip some documents, However, there are ads which only show up when you launch the app. For that, you get the full features of the app.

WinZip – Zip Unzip Tool

Easy Unrar, Unzip & Zip

WinZip is also another good Zip file extractor for Android. The file size is considerably bigger with over 30MB in size however, it does make up for it in terms of features which it is packed with.

It can interact with many more documents and possibly all the documents there are. From the basic Zip, Rar, Tar to even PowerPoint presentations (.ppt and .pptx), comic book files (.cbz), all text files, and much more. So if you’re looking to unpack more than just the basics then this app right here is for you.

Xzip – zip unzip unrar utility

Xzip app is one zip file extractor app that is worth checking out. As the name says, the app can zip, unzip and unrar. It can also do more than that, even so much more with a very nice user interface to go with it which makes it one of the best choices for a first-timer. Simple and easy. However, some of its features are reserved for the Pro version which includes unlimited unpackings (the basic free one gives you just 5) and full support for password-protected archives.

Conclusion

The three file extractor apps list above are the only ones i can recommend out of the one I tested (tested more than 20).

Others simply had too many ads it basically made the app unusable, some others didn’t even have the option to unpack any type of file without going premium – paying for the pro version and some others were just plain confusing. The ones I listed here should be able to access and unpack any type of documents you have, especially number 2.
