BlackBerry Evolve: Blackberry Latest Android Phone with 18:9 Display

BlackBerry has launched the Blackberry Evolve, a new mid-range series from the company. It’s also the first Android smartphone from the company with no keyboard whatsoever.

The device chips with the latest 18:9 aspect ratio screen, it also packs 64GB storage space and 4GB RAM space. The Evolve smartphone packs dual rear cameras as well. Lets find out more.

Design And Display

The device looks absolutely stunning no doubt, although, BlackBerry kept it really simple at the rear. It has a Plastic back with dots that enables a perfect grip, we can also see the two wonders at the top.

It’s equipped with dual rear shooters in a vertical position at the top middle with the LED flash sitting by the side. There’s a fingerprint scanner underneath as well, and it will be available only in Black.

Turning to the front, you’ll be greeted with the tall 18:9 aspect screen with no keyboard in sight. BlackBerry completely got rid of its signature feature to please their fans.

It’s built around a 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, this has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 403 pixels per inch density. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top for protection.

Hardware and Software

Behind the wheel, the Qualcomm SDM450 Snapdragon 450 takes control with its 14nm FinFET process technology. It ships with an octa-core processor clocking at 1.8GHz tops. While the Adreno 506 graphics card handles graphics.

There’s a standard 4GB of RAM space available here for multitasking here, this is more than enough to handle all your apps. In the storage department, you get the standard 64GB, although you can expand up to 256GB using a memory card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box as well.

Camera And Connectivity

It’s equipped with a dual 13MP + 13MP autofocus camera, this boasts of 1/3.1″ sensor size and 1.12µm pixel size respectively. It comes with a LED flash, HDR, panorama and shoots 2K @30fps, while the 16MP selfie camera has a LED flash as well.

The BlackBerry Evolve supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIM. It has support for Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB TypeC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

Battery And Availability

The BlackBerry Evolve is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology. BlackBerry Evolve will be available on shopping stores, starting from $365 to $399, that’s about (N130,000 – N140,000).
