Blackberry just announced the launch of their new smartphone-Blackberry Motion. The new Blackberry Motion runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). Comparing to the modern Android smartphone, there’s nothing so special about the Blackberry Motion.
Although, the 4000mAh on the Motion totally knocks other Blackberry smartphones out of the park. I think this is a huge improvement for Blackberry. The battery on the Motion could compete with other Android smartphones but basically, this is a midrange device from Blackberry.
Interestingly, the new Blackberry Motion is IP67 certified, offering dust and water resistant. Yes, you can go swimming with the Motion. It is water resistant for up to 30 minutes.

Design
Available in just Black, the Blackberry Motion looks like the previous Z series. Blackberry’s negligence of avoiding to introduce new colours to their smartphone is quite disappointing. The 5.5-inch smartphone looks like the bigger version of Z10, with a home button.
The home button which has the blackberry logo which also doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint scanner is invoked right now, and Hardware giants are incorporating it in their device. I knew Blackberry wouldn’t disappoint here.
There’s also a Blackberry logo at the back of the smartphone, with one rear camera mounted at the top left.
Display
The Blackberry Motion spots 5.5-inch screen with a 71.0% screen-to-body ratio. The screen is an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen showing over 16M colours With 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and a pixel per inch density of 401, the display on the Motion will make your videos and games quite enjoyable.
Hardware and Software
This is the only feature on the Blackberry Motion that I’m really impressed with. Its CPU is a 2.0 GHz Octa-core Cortex-A53 and with a Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625, this is going to be one fast device.
It also sports a GPU Adreno of 506 and 4GB of RAM, which lets you run large apps smoothly.
There’s a 32GB storage space which is upgradeable up to 256 GB with microSD.
The Motion runs smoothly on Android 7.1 (Nougat), and it is amazing seeing the Android family getting bigger every day. The fact that Nokia and Blackberry are now fully into Android smartphones, is everything! I’m hoping Apple joins the train. Lol
Camera
The Blackberry Motion spots a 12MP rear HDR Camera with flash and phase detection autofocus for clearerr photos. The rear camera also features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and panorama. There’s also an 8MP selfie camera for selfie lovers.
Battery
Its non-removable Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery can last you a day of heavy usage compared to other Blackberry smartphones.
