Buhari mobile app to be launched in Nigeria December 2016

A mobile app is a software that is designed to run on mobile devices like smartphones and tablet. The database of mobile apps are increasing everyday thanks to apps developers and innovation in mobile technology. Smartphones are now sold with several apps bundled into them, such apps are called pre-installed apps and those that are important but not pre-installed can be installed through mobile apps distribution channels like Apps stores, Google playstore, Window phone store and Blackberry world.

In Nigeria according to Stats Counter , Android is the most widely used Operating System, meaning android applications are the most widely used by Nigerians. The stats show that Android operating system experienced an unprecedented patronage since the collapse of Nokia and Blackberry. This growth is attributed to Brands like Tecno, Samsung, Gionee and Infinix who gave Nigerians a chance to enjoy the “Taste of Android” at an affordable price.

Corporate organizations and the government are beginning to finding ways on how best to connect with their workers and people all over the world. The success story of apps like Facebook, WhatSapp, Twitter , Instagram, LinkedIn and others are clear example of how applications can be used to make the world a better place and a global village.

In Nigeria, the present administration is embracing the use of mobile application as sources of information dissemination bridging the information barriers among the populace. President Buhari will be launching a mobile app to be known as Buhari mobile App or Federal Government Information App (FGIAPP). The app was developed by Olawole Falope and it will be launched on December 15, 2016 in Abuja as announced by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Features of the Buhari Mobile App

  • This unique app will put an end to the misrepresentation and dissemination of falsehood on activities the Buhari-led government.
  • Up to date access to information and the activities of the present government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
  • Get to know what is happening in Nigeria from anywhere in the world.
  • The Resident Information Officers (RIOs) from ministries, departments and agencies will feed it with news
  • It would function 24/7 all year round.
