Cubot Magic is an Affordable Bezel-less Dual Rear Camera Smartphone

Cubot Magic Review

The Cubot Magic is the first Cubot smartphone with 3D glass screen. Cubot is known for their affordable beautiful device, and the Magic is more than perfect. For just $105 (N40,000) you can get this phone in all its glory.

It doesn’t look cheap that’s for sure, the Cubot Magic is classy with curved sides and edges. The dual rear cameras are placed vertically with the LED flash at the top left corner. The ergonomic design and simple overall look are out of this world.

Cubot Magic

Although the body was mainly designed with plastic, you would hardly notice from afar. The smartphone is a little bit bulky, measuring 9.3mm slim and weighing 145.6g. Disappointingly it has no fingerprint scanner and available in Gold Black, Gray Black colours.

The Cubot Magic boasts of a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, and a resolution of 1280 x 720 Pixels. It has 294 pixels per inch density bringing the display out and sharp. While the screen to body ratio stands at 69.8%.

Cubot is bringing the curved display to their midrange smartphones, and I’m loving it. The physical navigation buttons are placed at the bottom bezels, while the sensors and selfie camera are at the top.

The brain behind this midrange device is the MediaTek MT6737 chipset, with Quad Core 1.3GHz processor. It has an ARM Mali-T720 MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM for heavy multitasking and app launching.

It runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat OS, with 16GB internal storage space for storing files and games. If that isn’t enough, there’s space for external memory up to 128GB.

The dual rear camera is perfect as Cubot decided to go with the current trend. This is actually the cheapest phone I’ve ever seen with a dual rear camera. The 13MP + 2MP back shooter with f/2.4 aperture is capable for all your photography needs. It takes 4K resolution images as well, that’s how amazing this phone is.

For selfies, there’s a 5MP front shooter with soft flash ready to fulfil all your selfie fantasies.

Cubot Magic is powered by a 2600mAh Non-Removable battery.

Cubot Magic is available for just $105, that’s about N40,000 – N45,000.
