Garmin Fēnix 5 Plus Multisport GPS Watch Launched with Garmin Pay

Garmin fēnix 5 Plus series have been introduced by the tech giant, the company is famous for its wearable devices. The multisport GPS smartwatches come with maps, music, Garmin Pay and wrist-based Pulse Ox.

Design

The Garmin fēnix 5 Plus series maintains the same design as the previous fēnix 5. The fēnix 5 Plus Series has a silicone band instead of the trendy leather and titanium strap. The silicone band or what Garmin calls QuickFit bands comes in different colours like Solar Flare Orange, Coyote Tan Silicone, Sea Foam Blue and Frost Blue.

You can choose from two sleek finishing. Either a PVD-coated stainless-steel bezel with silicone watch band. There’s a lighter material with a high-performing titanium bezel version as well, this has a brushed titanium bracelet. Overall, the designs are pretty rugged and offer dust and water resistant. All you have to do is find a combination that best suits you. Each sizes offers a different battery life.

Battery

The fēnix 5S Plus measures up to 42mm. It will last up to 7 days in smartwatch mode and up to 4 hours in GPS and Music mode, according to the company. The fēnix 5 Plus measures 47mm. And offers 10 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and 8 hours in GPS and Music mode. Whereas, the fēnix 5X Plus measures 51mm. It will last 20 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and 13 hours in GPS and Music mode. They all have UltraTra power saver mode which Garmin claims extends battery life even further.

Storage and Features

The Garmin fēnix 5 Plus boasts of 16GB storage space with Galileo support, GPS and GLONASS. It has built-in routable topographical maps as well. There’s Garmin Pay for seamless payments and wrist-based Pulse Oximeter 1 for altitude acclimation awareness ( this is only on fēnix 5X Plus ).

The fēnix 5 Plus has a huge 1.2″ screen just like the rest of the series. The Garmin Chroma Display with LED backlighting produces full colours and saves battery as well. It also assures automatically sunlight readability when you’re out in the sun. You can also activate a privacy mode for the notifications you receive. It’s also water resistant for up to 100 meters.

It has a heart rate sensor that works seamlessly well, it also has all the smart connectivity features on the previous fēnix 5 models. All of the Plus series now includes built-in map data optimized for at-a-glance navigation and location tracking.

Price

The fēnix 5 Plus series will have a price that ranges from £599/$699.99 to £999/$1,149.99.
