Managing your MTN data subscriptions effectively is essential to prevent unexpected charges from auto-renewal services. MTN Nigeria offers a variety of data plans—including daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly options—all of which come with an auto-renewal feature. To maintain control over your expenses, it’s important to know how to cancel this automatic renewal

Methods to Cancel Auto-Renewal on MTN

MTN offers several convenient methods to deactivate auto-renewal for data plans:

1. Using USSD Codes

*a. General Deactivation via 312#

  1. Dial *312# on your MTN line.
  2. Select “Data Plans” by entering 1.
  3. Navigate to “Manage Data” by entering 99 for “Next” and then 12 for “Manage Data”.
  4. Choose “Cancel Auto-Renewal” by entering 3.
  5. Select the specific data plan you wish to cancel auto-renewal for.

Note: This method allows you to view and manage all active data plans on your line.

b. Specific Data Plan Deactivation via SMS

  1. Identify the subscription code of the data plan you want to cancel. For example:
    • Daily 50MB plan: Subscription code is 114.
  2. Send an SMS with the text NO114 to 131.

This method directly cancels auto-renewal for the specified data plan.

  2. Log in with your MTN number.
  3. Navigate to “More” in the app menu.
  4. Select “Manage Subscriptions” to view all active subscriptions.
  5. Choose the subscription you wish to cancel and toggle off the auto-renewal option.

The myMTN app provides a user-friendly interface to manage your subscriptions seamlessly.

3. Using the *305# Service Menu

  1. Dial *305# on your MTN line.
  2. Select “Active Services” to view all services currently active on your line.
  3. Choose “Cancel All” to deactivate all active services, including data plan auto-renewals.

This method is effective if you wish to cancel multiple services simultaneously.
