With iPhone X launch in late 2017, Apple has introduced a change in the way we take a screenshot. On several occasions where we may want to share what is on-screen with a friend/colleague, we’re required to take the screenshot on iPhone.
In the past years, we used to do this with the Home Button and Power Button combination.
Fortunately, just like the process of taking screenshots stays unchanged in all 3 models (iPhone X, Xs, Xs Max, iPhone XR), the new iPhone 11 equally retains it.
Though in comparison with your old iPhone, the method is slightly different; it’s just as easy as you used to capture screen on the older devices.
Below, we have laid out the simple steps to follow to get the job done!
How to Screenshot on iPhone 11 Series Via Button
First Step — Press the Side button & Volume Up button
You can take a screenshot on the iPhone 11 by pressing both the Volume Up and the Side buttons at the same time. (The Side button is previously called the Sleep/Wake button.)
Second Step — Edit Screenshot
If your iPhone is not on mute, you will hear that familiar camera shutter sound. The screenshot preview will then come up at the bottom. The next thing to do is to tap on it to bring up the option to annotate it.
Third Step — Share Your Screenshot
You can send your screenshot to social media platforms/apps like WhatsApp, an iMessage conversation, Slack or mail. To do this, tap & hold on the preview to jump to the Share sheet, directly.
You can dismiss the screenshot preview. Your screenshot will be saved in the Screenshot album, automatically, in the Photos application.
How to Screenshot on iPhone 11 Using Assistive Touch
If your other hand is occupied or there is some physical restraint, limiting the use of both hands, Assistive Touch allows you to take a screenshot with only one hand.
First Step — Enable Assistive Touch
To do this, go to the Settings app -> General -> Accessibility -> Assistive Touch, and set Assistive Touch to ON. Then, a semi-transparent button (the Assistive Touch button) will be added to your screen.
Second Step — Customize Top Level Menu
Press the Customize Top Level Menu and tap the Custom icon (with the star). Now, pick Screenshot from the list.
The screenshot button will now be added to your Assistive Touch Menu.
Fourth Step: Take Screenshot Using Assistive Touch
Now that the screenshot feature has been added to your Assistive Touch menu, you can take a one-handed screenshot whenever it is needed.
To do so, tap on the Assistive Touch button and then on the screenshot button.
Your screen will flash white just like before, accompanied with the camera shutter sound (if your phone is not muted). The screenshot will now be saved, automatically, in the Photos app.
Viewing Screenshots on Your iPhone 11, 11 Pro, or 11 Pro Max
All your screenshots are in the Screenshots album, accessible in Photos.
Like the Selfies album, this album is created automatically. All screenshot you take is automatically added to the album. Simply launch your Photos app, hit the Albums tab, and you’ll then see the Screenshots album in the list.
In a Nutshell
Wrapping up, the iPhone 11 series arrive with a slew of impressive specs and features, including all-new 5.8″ & 6.5″ Super Retina RDX displays, Apple’s newly-debuted A13 Bionic CPU, all-new design, among many others.
