HTC Desire 12 Full Specs Review and Price

The HTC Desire 12 is a midrange smartphone with amazing specs and features. The device was first announced before the 2018 Mobile World Congress.

With lots of HTC fans hoping the device would be unveiled during the MWC, well the device is finally here. Boasting of 32GB storage, 3GB RAM and running on Android 8.0 Oreo. Want to know more? Stay with me.

HTC Desire 12 Specs and Features

・ 5.5-inch, IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 1440 x 720 pixels
・Android 8.0 Oreo with 3GB RAM
・Quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6739
・32GB built-in storage and support memory card up to 400GB
・13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera
・ 2730mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery

DESIGN

Made completely from Aluminum Alloy, the Desire 12 was designed to perfection and glows in the presence of light. Sporting curved sides and edges that should be quite comfortable to hold and flaunt. The rear camera and LED flash are horizontal at the top left corner.

Disappointingly, it has no fingerprint scanner, which is a huge let down for a midrange smartphone. Measuring 8.2mm in thickness and weighing just 137g overall, making it really light. You can get the smartphone in Black, Gold and Purple colours.

DISPLAY

The Desire 12 is bezel-less and flows with the current 18:9 aspect ratio trend. There’s no fingerprint scanner anywhere at the front which is just utterly disheartening, to say the least. Nonetheless, it has no narrow bezels, just super minimal top and bottom bezel.

HTC Desire 12

The 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 293 pixels per inch density for clear and sharp visuals. The screen also has full lamination and stretches up to 74.2% screen to body ratio.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6739 chip which is a quad-core processor with 64-bit CPU architecture. The processor reaches a maximum speed of 1.3GHz manufactured on the 28nm process technology. Handling graphics is the PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor.

Multitasking shouldn’t be a problem here, with 3GB of RAM space available coupled with a memory speed of 667MHz. There is 32GB storage space that’s upgradeable up to 400GB with a memory card. The HTC Desire 12 smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

CAMERA

At the rear, there’s a single 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. The camera is capable of capturing photographs with 4416 x 2944 pixels in dimension. Record Full HD videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. The 5MP selfie camera has f/2.4 aperture and 1.12µm pixel size for cute selfies.

BATTERY

The HTC Desire 12 is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 2730mAh battery with fast charging technology.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

HTC Desire 12 is available for $199 to $249, that’s about (N60,000 – N80,000).
