The Huawei P20 Lite is the most affordable version of the P20 series which Huawei will be unveiling on the 27th of March in Paris. But being the lite version doesn’t mean the device doesn’t pack a bunch.
The Lite version comes with a rear fingerprint scanner, 64GB storage, 4GB RAM and dual rear cameras. Without further ado, meet the Huawei P20 Lite.
DESIGN
A metal over unibody exudes at the rear and covered in glass as well. Unlike its big brothers, the P20 Lite comes with a rear fingerprint scanner. There’s also a dual vertical camera at the top left corner with the LED flash underneath.
According to a video review by an Italian blog, the Huawei P20 Lite measures just 7.4 mm in thickness. That’s pretty impressive to honest, the lite version is practically light as well, measuring just 145g. The smartphone will be announced in Black and Red variants, no words yet if more colours would be available as well.
DISPLAY
All three of Huawei P20 series comes with the top-notch bezel-less display. Housing just the selfie camera, speaker grille and ambient light sensor. Dishing out more screen than bezels, crossing the 80% screen to body ratio mark.
The 5.84-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays like a flagship nonetheless. Boasting 2250 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 432 pixels per inch density. The screen dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio with super minimal bezels overall.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
Under the hood is the HiSilicon Kirin 659 from Huawei with an Octa-core processor. The 8-cores of processor on the P20 Lite reaches a speed of 1.7 GHz. It houses a 64-bit CPU architecture, 16nm process technology and ARM Mali-T830 MP2 graphics processor.
Multitasking shouldn’t be a problem with 4GB RAM space available, which clocks at 833 MHz in memory speed. 64GB storage space is available to store all files, you can expand further up to 256GB with a memory card. The P20 Lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo
CAMERA
For photography, there’s a 16MP + 2MP dual rear camera that captures photographs of 4619 x 3464 pixels in dimension. The camera comes with a dual-LED flash and other features as well. To take selfies, there’s a sharp 16MP selfie camera at the top-notch corner.
BATTERY
The P20 Lite is powered by a Non-removable Li-Ion 3000mAh battery with fast charging technology.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Huawei P20 Lite is available for $449 to $499, that’s about (N150,000 – N170,000).
