The European patent office received applications for two new colour options for the Huawei P30 in late May and was published a few days ago. The two new colour options filed are an “almost gradient” and a “dual-tone paint” options.
The dual-tone paint option is almost identical to what you have on the Google Pixel 2 XL. While the “almost gradient” version is related but distinct with the Breathing Crystal colour option of the P30.
It’s no coincidence that this application is published ahead of the 2019 IFA. For those that don’t know, the IFA is Europe’s biggest tech show.
During the 2018 IFA, Huawei unveiled four new colour options for the P20 Pro. You can bet the same is lined up for this year’s edition. The application is for Huawei P30, so it remains to be seen if the P30 Pro will get these new colour options.
Headlining the 2019 IFA for Huawei is the Mate 30 and HiSilicon Kirin 990 SoC. They might have these new colour options of the P30 as extra for the event. The company will also make other minor announcements about their existing products and services.
If you’re yet to buy the Huawei P30, which is arguably one of the best smartphones of 2019, you can wait till after the 2019 IFA. But that’s if the two new colour options entice you. The event will begin on Friday, September 6 and end on Wednesday, September 11.
