Infinix recently released the Infinix Hot 7 as the successor to last year’s Infinix Hot 6 smartphone. The Hot 7 does pack some slight improvements over the Hot 6 with the inclusion of a secondary rear camera, a notch and a slightly updated Android version. Asides from these, they pretty much have somewhat the same specs with the 4,000mAh battery, 1GB or 2GB of RAM which comes with 16GB and 32GB of storage respectively. Let’s see how much of an upgrade the Hot 7.
Infinix Hot 7 Vs Hot 6 – Design & Display
The new Infinix Hot 7 is rocking a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1500 pixels while the Hot 6 has a slightly smaller 6.0-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1440 pixel screen resolution. Hot 7 uses the new and trendy 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch while the Hot 6 uses an 18:9 aspect ratio. Both devices body are made with plastic material. Hot 7 has a dual rear camera setup while the Hot 6 has just one, however, both still have an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for biometric Authentication/Verification. Both devices come in colours blue, gold and black.
Infinix Hot 7 Vs Hot 6 – Hardware & Software
Both devices here use a MediaTek SoC. The Hot 7 uses an MT6580P SoC which has a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with an ARM Mali GPU while Hot 6 uses an MT6737 SoC which also has a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3GHz alongside an ARM Mali GPU. Both devices come with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM, both of which comes with 16GB of storage.
Storage space is also expandable on both devices, up to 128GB via a microSD card. Hot 6 runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box for the 2GB RAM Variant while the 1GB RAM Variant runs the Go Edition of Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Regardless of the which you get, both still have Infinix’s XOS 3.3 Hummingbird slapped on top. Hot 7, on the other hand, does somewhat the same, the 2GB RAM variant runs Android 8.1 Oreo while the 1GB RAM variant runs the Go Edition of Android 8.1 Oreo, both of which are covered by Infinix’s XOS 4.1 Honeybee Skin.
Camera, Battery & Connectivity
On the Infinix Hot 7 is a combination 13MP + 2MP rear camera with a dual-LED flash while an 8MP Camera with also a dual-LED flash sits in front for selfies. Hot 6, on the other hand, has just a single 13MP camera with an LED on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera taking care of selfies.
Both devices here have a 4,000mAh battery capacity which doesn’t have fast charging. There is also no 4G LTE connectivity too on both devices. However, there is WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, an almost extinct 3.5mm jack and a microUSB port for charging and file transfer.
Infinix Hot 7 Vs Hot 6 – Price
Infinix Hot 6 goes for about N37,000 and N45,000 for the 1GB/16GB and 2GB/16GB configuration respectively. Hot 7 prices Haven been out yet but given the specifications and rumoured prices so far, it should cost the same as its predecessor; the Hot 6
