Infinix Note 5 vs Tecno Camon X mid-range battle is about to begin. Tecno brought on its A game with the Camon X mid-range smartphone in April. The device has been quite a trend on shopping stores ever since. The device is the first Tecno smartphone with Face ID.

Just weeks ago, Infinix unveiled the Note 5 which is the successor to the Note 4 and Note 4 Pro. The Infinix Note 5 is a pure stock Android smartphone with no Bloatware. These devices will be giving Mid-range lovers a rough headache when it comes to buying one. Which of these smartphones gives true value for money? Let’s find out.

Infinix Note 5 Vs Tecno Camon X – Design

The Camon X has a Plastic-like body and looks almost radiant from afar, it sports dual curved antenna lines to complement its stunning body. The Note 5 comes with a Plastic body as well and it reflects light beautifully but there’s no other design on its body. They both sport a rear fingerprint scanner with the rear camera and LED flash combination in an identical format.

Although, the camera on the Note 5 is accompanied by a dual-LED flash, whereas the Camon X sports a quad-LED flash. The Camon X is slimmer and weighs less, it measures 7.8mm in thickness and weighs 150g. While the Note 5 measures 8.4mm and weighs 173g overall. The Note 5 is available in Black, Blue and Grey, while the Camon X is available in Jet black, Blue and Gold.

They both sport the same 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio screen but we have to look at the details on the screen and how sharp it’s going to be. The Camon X has an HD+ screen which boasts of 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 282 pixels per inch density.

While the Note 5 is equipped with a sharp FHD+ screen with 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 402 pixels per inch density for clear visuals. Details on the Infinix Note 5 will be much clearer and appear sharper than on the Camon X. But that takes a toll on its battery over time.

In the photography department, the Note 5 has a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a large 1.25um pixel size. The camera is AI-powered and comes with a dual-LED flash and other features. While the Camon X has a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a Quad-LED flash.

In terms of selfies, the Note 5 brings a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking cute selfies, it comes with a front flash as well. While the Camon X comes with a 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, front flash and portrait mode. They both shoot 1080p videos @30fps.

The devices are powered by the same Helio P23 MT6763T chip from MediaTek which was built on a 16nm process technology. The chip has an octa-core processor which clocks at 2.0 max. While the ARM Mali-G71 MP2 handles graphics.

The Camon X has 3GB of RAM and 16GB storage space, while the Note 5 gives you more storage space coming with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. Nonetheless, both storage options are expandable up to 128GB. They both run on Android 8.1 Oreo as well.

Battery and Price

The Note 5 is powered by a massive 4500mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with support for fast charging technology. Whereas the Camon X houses a smaller 3750mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology as well.

Of course, the Note 5 is more expensive with a starting price of N62,000. While the Camon X has a starting price of N55,000.

 Conclusion

These devices are quite competitive with each other, but it boils down to budget and what you need. The Camon X is a photography king no doubt, but the Note 5 gives you more battery and storage space.
