Infinix Note 50 Review: A Budget-Friendly Powerhouse with Flagship Feel

As someone who’s had the chance to experience the Infinix Note 50 firsthand, I can confidently say this device is redefining what users should expect at its price point. With a premium design, strong performance, rich features, and solid battery life, the Note 50 delivers beyond expectations for a mid-to-high range smartphone.

Unboxing Experience

Opening the box, you’re greeted with a well-packed kit: the Note 50 itself, a 45W fast charger, a pair of earphones, a Carlcare S-VIP service card, an MTN 1.5GB data bonus card, and a SIM ejector pin. Infinix clearly wants users to feel they’re getting value right from the start.

Design & Build Quality

The Infinix Note 50 feels incredibly sturdy and premium in hand, thanks to its Ultra-Resilient ArmorAlloy™ Metal Frame. The Mountain Shade color variant I reviewed stands out beautifully, giving the phone a unique and high-end aesthetic—more reminiscent of flagship devices like the iPhone or Galaxy S25 than your average mid-to-high ranger

The device is comfortable to hold in the hands and comes in four color options:Titanium Grey, Ruby Red, Mountain Shade, and Shadow Black.

On the right side, you’ll find the power and volume buttons. The bottom houses the dual Nano SIM tray, a USB-C charging port (which doubles as the audio output since there’s no headphone jack), and a speaker grille.

At the top, there’s another speaker—tuned by JBL—an IR blaster for remote control functions, and a secondary microphone.

Display & Multimedia

The Note 50 is fitted with a 6.78-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display, boasting a 93% screen-to-body ratio and a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness hits 1300 nits, making it readable even under direct sunlight, while 2160Hz PWM dimming ensures comfortable low-light viewing.

Watching content on this display is a delight—the colors are vibrant, the blacks are deep, and the bezels are impressively thin. Audio is another strong point, with the dual JBL-tuned speakers offering rich, immersive sound—something you don’t often find in budget phones.

Embedded under the display is a snappy fingerprint sensor, which works quickly and reliably. One of my favorite features at the back is the Halo Lighting, which can be customized for various purposes: as a camera timer, call notification alert, charging indicator, or even for Folax, Infinix’s AI assistant.

Software & AI Experience

The Note 50 runs on Android 15, layered with Infinix’s refined XOS 15. The interface feels more polished than in previous versions and introduces a host of smart AI features.

Folax, the built-in AI assistant integrated Google Gemini and Deepseek- is easily activated by long-pressing the One-Tap button. It helps with tasks like writing content, setting alarms, summarizing documents, translating calls in real time, and more.

Before and after of how the AI Eraser works- It removes the electricity pole and the cables- This result is quite amazing

There’s also a Clear Voice feature, which makes phone calls clearer in noisy environments, and an Image Eraser tool, perfect for removing unwanted elements from photos.

Performance

Under the hood, the Note 50 is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Helio G100, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This combination handles everyday tasks, multitasking, and even gaming quite well. I played Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile, eFootball and some lighter games without lag or overheating.

Browsing, social media, and switching between apps was smooth. For a mid-to-high range device, the performance is commendable.

Camera

The rear houses a 50MP Ultra Steady Night Camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a third unknown auxiliary sensor. During my testing, the 50MP shooter impressed me with detailed, balanced photos even in less-than-ideal lighting. Portrait mode worked surprisingly well too, despite lacking a dedicated telephoto lens.

Here are some of the images I took with the Note 50, check them out.

The 13MP selfie camera also delivered sharp and natural-looking selfies, easily ranking it among the best in its category.

Battery & Connectivity

The Note 50 packs a 5,200mAh battery, supported by 45W wired and 30W wireless charging (note: the wireless charger is not included in the box). One pleasant surprise is the reverse wireless charging feature, which lets you charge other devices.

I tested the battery with 3 hours of gaming, 2 hours of video streaming, and a bit of hotspot use—and the battery held up impressively for an entire day without needing a top-up.

Regarding connectivity, the Note 50 is a 4G device with features like NFC, an IR blaster, and sensors like the gyroscope for motion tracking. These are often missing in other devices at this price point, making the Note 50 feel more feature-complete.

Final Verdict

The Infinix Note 50 is a shining example of how far budget smartphones have come. From its premium build and immersive display to its AI-powered software and solid all-around performance, it punches well above its weight class.

If you’re in the market for a reliable mid-range device that offers a flagship-like experience without breaking the bank, the Infinix Note 50 deserves to be on your shortlist.
