Infinix Smart 10 Plus Review: Big Battery, Bigger Value

Smartphones have come a long way. These days, even budget-friendly devices are packing features we could only dream of a few years ago—large displays, dual cameras, face unlock, and batteries that last. One such device making waves in Nigeria’s entry-level market is the Infinix Smart 10 Plus.

Retailing at ₦126,000 and available across retail stores nationwide, this device is specifically designed for everyday smartphone owners who seek great value without compromising on the basics.

After spending a few days with the Smart 10 Plus as my daily driver, I came away with some clear impressions and more than a few surprises.

Come with me, let’s check everything this phone has to offer, starting with the first thing you’ll experience: the unboxing.

Unboxing Experience

Opening the box, you’re greeted with a clean and simple setup. Inside, you’ll find:

  • The Infinix Smart 10 Plus
  • A USB-C cable
  • An 18W fast charger
  • A SIM ejector tool
  • Standard quick start guides and warranty information

It’s not an overly luxurious package, but for a phone at this price point, you get exactly what you need to hit the ground running. The inclusion of USB-C and 18W fast charging is already a step above what you’d find on many entry-level devices.

Design & Build Quality

Let’s be honest: this phone won’t be confused with a flagship, but Infinix did a solid job making it look modern and polished. It is also unique compared to other entry-level devices around now.

The Smart 10 Plus sports a 6.6-inch display housed in a sleek polycarbonate body that feels sturdy in the hand. It’s available in a few stylish colour variants like Iris Blue, Titanium Silver, Sleek Black, and Ruby Red—our review unit was the Titanium Silver, which looked clean and premium, especially in daylight.

At 198g, the phone has a bit of weight, but it’s balanced, and the rounded edges make it comfortable to hold. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as the power button—it’s responsive and easy to reach.

The phone also features an IP64 splash-resistant build and is said to withstand drops from up to 1.5 meters. That kind of resilience is ideal for users who aren’t particularly careful with their devices.

Display & Multimedia Experience

Infinix has equipped the Smart 10 Plus with a 6.6-inch HD+ IPS LCD, and while it’s not AMOLED or Full HD, it holds its own. The resolution is 720 x 1612 pixels, with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is honestly impressive at this price point. That high refresh rate makes scrolling through apps and social feeds feel noticeably smoother than you’d expect on a budget phone.

Colours are fairly vibrant, and the brightness peaks high enough to be legible outdoors, although direct sunlight may still require some squinting.

On the audio side, you get dual stereo speakers—a rare find in this price range. Whether you’re watching YouTube, listening to Afrobeat playlists on Boomplay, or catching a movie on Netflix, the stereo output is rich and loud. Plus, the classic 3.5mm headphone jack is still here, and we love to see it.

Performance & Everyday Use

This is where things get interesting. The Smart 10 Plus is powered by a Unisoc T7250 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD).

Now, this isn’t a phone made for gamers or heavy multitaskers, but in my experience:

  • Apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok ran smoothly
  • Basic multitasking between messaging, Chrome browsing, and music streaming was fine
  • Games like Subway Surfers, and even PUBG Lite played fairly well on low graphics settings.

For more intensive games or prolonged multitasking, the limits of the processor and RAM do show, but that’s to be expected at this tier. Still, the XOS 15(based on Android 15) does a good job of keeping things light and responsive.

And speaking of XOS…

Software Features & User Experience

The Smart 40 Plus runs Infinix’s XOS 15.1, layered over Android 15. If you’ve used Infinix devices before, you’ll recognise the interface immediately: colourful, full of options, and packed with Infinix’s apps and utilities.

Some standout features include:

  • Social Turbo: Enhances WhatsApp usage with voice recording, call monitoring, and more
  • XClone: Lets you run dual instances of social media apps
  • Smart Panel: A customizable quick-access sidebar
  • AI Gallery & Smart Scanner

There’s also Memory Fusion, which allows you to allocate an additional 4GB of virtual RAM using internal storage. It’s not a magic wand, but it helps with app-switching and background processes.

Downside? There’s still some bloatware here—Palm Store, Phoenix browser, and a few preinstalled games you’ll likely want to uninstall.

Ultra Link Free Call – Talk Without Data or Airtime

Now here’s one of the standout features that truly sets the Smart 10 Plus apart: Ultra Link free calling.

This feature allows you to make voice calls to other Ultra Link-enabled Infinix devices without using mobile data or airtime—all you need is Bluetooth connectivity, and the devices must be within a short range (like in the same room or nearby).

I tested it out, and it’s kind of amazing. Imagine being able to call your sibling in the next apartment, your friend at the next table, or a classmate in another corner of the lecture hall—with no SIM card required. For students or folks who regularly work in shared spaces, this is a game-changer.

Infinix AI Powered by Folax

One of the coolest surprises on the Smart 10 Plus is Folax, Infinix’s very own AI assistant. It’s built right into the phone and feels like having a mini helper that’s always ready to make your life easier—especially if you’re a student, content creator, or someone who’s constantly messaging and multitasking.

Folax can do a bunch of surprisingly useful things. Need help writing that perfect Instagram caption? Boom, done. Trying to make your text message sound more professional? Folax can clean it up in seconds. Even if you’re writing a WhatsApp status or composing an email, it’ll catch those sneaky grammar mistakes.

And if you’ve got a long document to go through (hello, last-minute assignment), Folax can summarize it for you in a snap. Stuck on a technical problem or need ideas for a project? Ask Folax—it’s smarter than you’d expect from a phone at this price.

The best part? You don’t need to install anything fancy. It’s already built into the phone and works smoothly with apps you’re already using. Sure, it’s not as deep as ChatGPT, but for an everyday assistant on a budget device, Folax is genuinely helpful—and even kind of fun to use.

Camera Performance

On the rear, the Smart 10 Plus houses a 8MP dual camera setup (8MP + AI sensor), and on the front, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter tucked into the centre punch-hole display.

In good lighting:

  • Photos come out clean and usable
  • The colours are slightly saturated but vibrant
  • The autofocus is responsive

In low light or indoor scenarios, image quality drops noticeably. There’s noise, and details get lost—but again, this is expected in this segment. The front-facing camera is decent for selfies and video calls but won’t blow you away.

Video recording maxes out at 1080p for both front and rear cameras, and stabilization is basic at best.

Overall? The Smart 10 Plus camera system is perfectly serviceable for social media and casual photography, but don’t expect flagship-level clarity.

Battery Life & Charging

Now this is where the Smart 10 Plus shines. With a 6,000mAh battery, this phone is a true endurance beast. During my review period, I got:

  • 2 full days of use with light to moderate screen time
  • Up to 9 hours of screen-on time under heavier use (social media, streaming, and messaging)
  • Almost 3 days on standby with Wi-Fi and mobile data off

Charging is handled via an 18W fast charger over USB-C, and it takes about 2 hours for a full charge. Not lightning-fast, but reasonable given the large battery capacity.

Connectivity & Extras

Despite its price, the Smart 10 Plus is pretty feature-packed. You get:

  • Dual SIM slots + microSD (no hybrid compromise)
  • 4G LTE support
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Wi-Fi 802.11ac
  • GPS + A-GPS for navigation
  • Side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock (both accurate and quick)
  • FM Radio
  • OTG support
  • Reverse charging (yes, you can use this as a power bank in a pinch)

No NFC here, but at this price point, that’s forgivable.

Final Verdict: Should You Buy the Infinix Smart 10 Plus?

If your smartphone priorities include:

  • Massive battery life
  • Big display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate
  • Modern design and stereo speakers
  • Great value for everyday tasks

…then the Infinix Smart 10 Plus is an easy recommendation in the entry-level category.

It’s not a performance powerhouse, and its camera won’t compete with mid-range devices, but for just ₦126,000, it delivers more than you’d expect—and it does so with surprising style and stamina.

Pros

  • Long-lasting 6,000mAh battery
  • 120Hz refresh rate (rare at this price)
  • Loud dual stereo speakers
  • Reliable fingerprint + face unlock
  • Clean modern design and good build quality
  • Expandable storage, OTG, and reverse charging

Cons:

  • Display is only HD+, not Full HD
  • Camera struggles in low light
  • Some preinstalled bloatware
  • Performance is basic—not ideal for heavy gaming
