iPhone 7 Plus Full Specs Review and Price

iPhone 7 Plus Review

The iPhone 7 Plus is Apple’s first dual camera smartphone, released in September of 2016, the device is the bigger version of the iPhone 7. It has more RAM, larger screen and bigger battery size than the iPhone 7, among other new features. Also unlike the iPhone 7, the bigger Plus version packs dual rear cameras which Apple claims is perfect for photography.

DESIGN

The iPhone 7 Plus has a premium aluminium frame back, exquisitely designed with class. One thing I noticed people love about the iPhone, is its sleek designs and the iPhone 7 Plus didn’t fall short. There is no glass at the back of the iPhone 7 Plus, as we have seen on the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

iPhone 7 Plus

The iPhone 7 Plus is IP67 certified, offering dust and water resistant for not more than 1 meter and up to 30 minutes. The home button on the front doubles as a fingerprint scanner, for easy access. And of course, Apple’s first dual rear camera sits pretty at the top left.

DISPLAY

So this was before Apple went completely bezel-less on us, the 5.5″ isn’t a complete screen. It has huge bezels with just 67.7% screen-to-body ratio. The screen is a LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080x1920pixels screen resolution.

It is protected with an Ion-strengthened glass and oleophobic coating, as it will hardly crack at the first drop. Playing games and watching videos on the iPhone 7 Plus just got more fun. With a wide colour gamut display, 3D Touch display, and 401 pixels per inch density.

HARDWARE and SOFTWARE

The iPhone 7 houses the Apple’s A10 Fusion chipset and Quad-core 2.34 GHz (2x Hurricane + 2x Zephyr) CPU. Multitasking and app launching just got faster with an improved 3GB of RAM. Internal storage on the iPhone 7 Plus varies, there’s one with 32GB, another with 128GB and the 256GB version.

The graphics processor is a PowerVR Series7XT Plus (six-core graphics), the device runs on iOS 10.0.1 upgradeable to iOS 11.1.

CAMERA

This is Apple’s first try with the trending dual rear cameras, and they nailed it! The dual 12MP + 12MP on iPhone 7 Plus is every photographer’s dream! The device ranked high in 2016 when tested with other flagships for the camera quality.

It has phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, quad-LED (dual tone) flash, geo-tagging, simultaneous 4K video and 8MP image recording, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR (photo/panorama). The 7MP selfie camera would leave you speechless with its face detection, HDR, panorama features.

BATTERY

iPhone 7 Plus is powered by a 2900mAh Non-removable battery.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

iPhone 7 Plus is available, the 32GB internal storage version goes for $699, that’s about N250,000 – N270,000.
