The Leagoo Power 5 was launched alongside the S9 at the 2018 Mobile World Congress. The company formed a partnership with Premier League top club Tottenham Hotspur to unveil these smartphones.
Unlike the flagship, the Power 5 doesn’t sport the trending top-notch but it’s still bezel-less. Furthermore, the device isn’t your ordinary midrange smartphone, packing 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and 7000mAh battery. Want to know more? Stay with me.
DESIGN
Sports a Metal and Plastic mix body that’s quite comfortable to hold and flaunt. The trending dual rear camera is present with the dual-LED flash in the middle of both cameras.
While the rear fingerprint scanner sits underneath, all in a vertical format. Moving to the sides, it’s quite bulky measuring 11.8 mm slim, mainly because of the massive battery capacity. The device is available in Black, Blue and Gold colours.
DISPLAY
This is the only Leagoo smartphone launched at the MWC 2018 without the top-notch. Nevertheless, it’s still bezel-less, reaching 75% screen to body ratio with 18:9 aspect ratio. It has no narrow bezel and super minimal bezels overall.
The 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is pretty sharp. Boasting of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 401 pixels per inch density. The screen has 178° viewing angle for a more viewing pleasure.
HARDWARE and SOFTWARE
Under the hood is the Mediatek Helio P23 MT6763V chipset with Octa-core processor. The 8-cores of processor reaches a clock speed of 1.5 GHz, with 28nm process technology. Handling graphics, the ARM Mali-G71 MP2 graphics processor is in charge with 2-cores and clocks at 700 MHz.
For multi-tasking, there’s a massive 6GB RAM space which reaches a memory speed of 1600 MHz for a smooth ride. In terms of storage, 64GB storage space is available to store all files, you can always upgrade up to 128GB as well. The Power 5 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.
CAMERA
The dual rear 13MP + 5MP camera is very sharp. Both cameras come with f/2.0 aperture and will work together to capture 4K resolution images. There’s also a dual-LED flash to help you out in dark places and other quality features. The 13MP selfie camera comes with a f/2.0 aperture as well, and takes cute selfies. A front flash is at the top bezel for selfies in low light and video calling in the dark.
BATTERY
The Leagoo Power 5 is powered by a Non-Removable Li-Po 7000mAh battery with Qi wireless charging and fast charging technology.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Leagoo Power 5 will be available for about $299 to $329 from March, that’s about (N95,000 – N115,000)
