Lenovo Z5 Pro GT with 12GB RAM, Price and Full Specifications Review

Lenovo with the New Lenovo Z5 Pro GT smartphone just took the title of not only being the first smartphone with the new Snapdragon 855 SoC but also the first smartphone with 12GB Of RAM. The new smartphone was announced today at a Lenovo event and is set to launch in late January, January 24 to be precise. Let’s see what else is new in the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT.

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT Design And Display

The design of the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is one of the reasons why it stands out form the Lenovo Z5 Pro. The design is premium looking with the orange/light-redish pattern around the edges. The pattern also makes it to the dual rear camera, surrounding the each with the orange line.

It still features a slider like the Lenovo Z5 Pro which houses the font facing camera that can be used for facial recognition. Display is also unchanged with a 6.39-inch true full screen Super AMOLED display with 1080p screen resolution, 403ppi, 19:9 aspect ratio and houses the fingerprint sensor (In-display). It also weighs 210 grams measures 9.3mm in thickness and like the Lenovo Z5 Pro, it comes in only one colour/design – Black (Different from the Lenovo Z5 Pro’s Black)

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT sports a dual camera setup at the back just like the Z5 Pro; a 16MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF along with a secondary 24MP camera. The camera is equipped with a dual-tone dual-LED flash, HDR, Panorama and can record 4k videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 120fps. For selfies, there also a dual mechanical pop camera which consists of a main 16MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 8MP camera. The selfie cam is equipped with HDR and can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Unlike the Lenovo Z5 Pro which utilises Snapdragon 710, This Lenovo Z5 Pro GT makes use of Snapdragon 855 SoC which is an octa-core processor based on the 7nm FinFET process technology clocked at 2.8GHz paired with an Adreno 640 GPU. The device comes in three configurations; a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of Storage, an 8GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage and beefier 12GB RAM variant with 512GB storage. There is no SD card slot for storage expansion. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ZUI 10 on top.

There is also no change in the battery department as a 3,350mAh battery powers this device which is also equipped with fast charging. It is also equipped with 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, WiFi direct, WiFi hotspot, USB Type-C and NFC.

Price And Availability

The based version of 6GB/128GB goes for CNY2,698 ($390) while the 8GB/256GB goes for CNY3,398 ($500). The biggest Variant with 12GB/512GB costs CNY4,398 ($650) and Pre-order for all three Variants begins on January 15 and the launch one week later, on January 24.
