DESIGN
It looks exactly like the Meizu 15 in terms of design, there were no major upgrades or downloads here. Still sports its stunning Metal body that’s really attractive and stunning. With the dual shooters still visible at the top middle.
Meizu is absolutely taking pride in its six-LED flash, which can be seen under the dual shooters. Measures the same 7.3mm in thickness here but weighs 177g probably due to the increase in battery capacity. The USB charging port and 3.5mm jack are both underneath and you can get it in Gray, Yakin and Ink colours.
DISPLAY
Meizu couldn’t reach the 80% mark on the Meizu 15, but they’ve taken it up a notch here. Impressively, this massive screen stretches up to 81% screen-to-body ratio without using the trending notch and while still holding on to the physical home button. Brilliant!
The 5.95 Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen has a breathtaking resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and 494 pixels per inch density. Even though it has a 16:9 aspect ratio, this screen is simply stunning and will deliver quality visuals.
HARDWARE and SOFTWARE
Running the race here is the Exynos 8895 chip from Samsung with a faster 8-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The Octa-core processor here reaches a fast speed of 2.5GHz with 10nm process technology. The Mali-G71 MP20 administrates everything graphics related.
There’s a bigger 6GB RAM space available here with 1.6GHz memory speed for faster multitasking through heavy apps. While for storage, there are two versions, one with 128GB storage space and a cheaper variant has 64GB storage as well. Nonetheless, you can always upgrade up to 400GB using a memory card, as it runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Flyme UI 7.0.
CAMERA
There’s a dual 12MP + 20MP rear shooter here. The 12MP camera has f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.3″ sensor size and 1.55 µm pixel size. While the 20MP telephoto sensor has 1/2.8″ sensor size and 1.0 µm pixel size. Features on the cameras include 4-axis OIS, 2x optical zoom, dual pixel phase and laser detection, autofocus, six-LED dual-tone flash and others. Videos of 2160p are recorded at 30fps, while the 20MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture.
