Meizu has released a Pro version to the Meizu 16s which was announced in back in April.
The Meizu 16s Pro is a slight upgrade in terms of specs. The key difference is a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and triple rear camera setup.
The Meizu 16s Pro features the same 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED display panel seen on the Meizu 16s. The display now comes with a 160Hz touch sampling rate. The in-display fingerprint reader has also been improved. According to the company, it can now unlock the device in 0.15 seconds.
Moving on to the camera department, the device sports a 20MP f/2.0 selfie snapper, which is the same as on the 16s. The main camera consists of a 48MP f/1.7 Sony IMX 586 shooter, a 20MP f/2.6 telephoto shooter and a 16MP f/2.2 ultrawide shooter which wasn’t present on the Meizu 16s. This new 16MP sensor is surrounded by a LED ring flash. The Meizu 16s Pro camera is capable of recording 4K videos at 60 frames per second.
The device has two RAM options of 6GB and 8GB that is paired with the Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The storage capacity goes up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. While the battery capacity is 3,600 mAh and supports 24W fast charging.
Running on the 16s Pro is the new Flyme 8 custom skin which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The new custom skin comes with a more polished and simplified UI. New wallpapers, ringtones, system sounds e.t.c are available. Other notable features include a new AR emoji, Aicy voice assistant, Game Mode 4.0 and One Mind 3.5 system optimizer.
The device is available now for pre-order in White, Black, Gradient and Green body colours. The 6/128GB storage version starts at CNY2,699/$376. The 8/128GB version at CNY2,999/$418. While the 8/256GB variant will cost CNY3,299)$460. It will be available for purchase from August 31.
