Moto X4 Review
Popular smartphone maker and a division of Lenovo, Motorola Mobility just launched their new device, the Moto X4. The smartphone which is a revival of the previously discontinued Moto X line was announced back in August. The Android One version of the device will also be available in the US, as it is the first device (after Google Pixel and Nexus) available on Google Project Fi. Motorola finally joined the dual rear camera party with the Moto X4, but when will they join the Bezel-less party?
DESIGN
The Moto X4 was mainly designed with an aluminium frame with both front and back glass. It has a curved classy look, making the X4 a beauty to behold and hold. The fingerprint scanner is mounted at the front, doubling with the home button. Only the dual camera and Motorola logo are situated at the back.
The Motor X4 is IP68 certified, meaning its both dust and water resistance. You can dip the device is not more than 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes tops and nothing would happen. Be ready to take countless selfies with this device while swimming.
DISPLAY
It seems Motorola isn’t ready to join the Bezel-less party yet. The 5.2″ screen on this device has lots of bezels. It sports an LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080x1920pixels screen resolution. It offers 68.4% screen-to-body ratio, with sharp visuals thanks to its 424 ppi density.
You can now use Amazon Alexa on the new device without unlocking it. Whether you’re out and about or at a friend’s house, you have all the features and benefits of Alexa in the palm of your hands.
HARDWARE and SOFTWARE
Moto X4 houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset with Octa-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. Which makes the device very powerful, and it consumes low power too. It has an Adreno 508 graphics processing unit, to run all your games smoothly.
In terms of RAM and storage space, there are two versions. One with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, while the other has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Of course, the internal storage on both versions can be upgraded to 256GB with microSD. Moto X4 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS upgradeable to Android 8.0 Oreo, with Android One skin.
