Nokia 1 is a budget smartphone released during the 2018 Mobile World Congress. NOKIA 1 is now officially available in Nigeria and will retail for N25, 000.

The device runs on Android 8.0 Go Edition , Google’s new operating system made specifically for smartphones with 1GB of RAM or lower.

The Nokia 1 also boasts 8GB internal storage and 5MP rear camera. Without further ado, meet the Nokia 1.

DESIGN

A cute and portable device, the Nokia 1 sports a Plastic back that is removable. The body is very simple and sleek, making the device very comfortable to hold. The rear camera and LED flash are horizontal at the top middle, while the Nokia logo is in its usual position.

It’s obvious the device doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner, but from the specs, it’s a low end smartphone.

The smartphone is quite bulky to the sides as well, measuring just 9.5mm in thickness and weighing 131g. The Nokia 1 was launched in Blue and Red colours.

DISPLAY

It Ships with lots of bezels, just like most low end smartphones, even though we’ve seen lots of budget smartphones with a bezel-less display. Nonetheless, it displays pretty nicely, there are three navigation buttons on the bottom bezel.

While another Nokia logo reigns at the top, with the selfie camera, speaker grille and sensors.

The 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays comes with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and 218 pixels per inch density for standard displays. Moving further, it dishes out a 16:9 aspect ratio and stretches up to 61.7% screen to body ratio.

HARDWARE and SOFTWARE

Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737M chipset which is a Quad core processor with 32-bit CPU architecture. The processor has a clock speed of 1.3GHz built on a 28nm process technology. In charge of graphics is the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processor.

For multitasking, just 1GB of RAM is available here with a memory speed of 640MHz. In terms of storage, 8GB storage space is available as well, you can upgrade up to 32GB with a memory card. The Nokia 1 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo Go Edition.

CAMERA

The 5MP rear camera won’t be winning any awards here, but you can still use it to take social media ready photos. With the Nokia 1, you can capture photographs with just 2592 x 1944 pixels in dimension and 720 pixels video at 30fps. For selfies, you get a 2MP.

BATTERY

The Nokia 1 is powered by a removable Li-Po 2150mAh battery with no fast charging technology.
