Nokia 2.2 Design And Display
The new Nokia 2.2 design is pretty much what you would expect at this price range. Its back is made from polycarbonate which is basically a fancy word for plastic. The back has the single rear camera along with an LED flash lined up perfectly at the top centre of the device. At the front is the 5.71-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1520 pixel screen resolution, 295ppi and a 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch up top that houses the front-facing camera and quite a big chin at the bottom with Nokia inscribed in it.
It has both a single SIM and dual SIM variant, both of which comes with a MicroSD card slot for additional storage. The phone weighs 153grams and measures 9.3mm in thickness with Steel and Tungsten Black as the available colour options available.
The Camera
At the back of the Nokia 2.2 is a single 13MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and AF. Features of the rear-facing camera include an LED flash for low light shots, HDR for good dynamic range and panorama to wide-angle like shots. It is also capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps. The front facing camera is a 5MP sensor tucked up in-between the display up top for selfies.
Hardware and Software
Nokia 2.2 uses a MediaTek SoC, specifically the MediaTek Helio A22 which has a quad-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz paired with a PowerVR GE8320 for graphics. This is hooked up to 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on the configuration you opt for. As for storage, the 2GB RAM variant has 16GB of internal while the 3GB RAM variant has 32GB, both of which can be expanded up to 400GB via a microSD.
As with all other Nokia devices, this new Nokia 2.2 is also among the Android One family. It runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and being part of the Android One family mean two years of software updates (Android Q and R) and 3 years of security updates.
Battery and Connectivity
A 3,000mAh battery brings this device to life with no support for fast charging. However, it does have 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS FM radio and a microUSB port through which charging and file transfer are done. It also supports USB on the go.
