Nokia 3.1 Plus is the more advanced Nokia 3.1 with a little bump here and there in the specifications while still managing to still be a somewhat budget device. The Nokia 3.1 Plus is sporting a 6.0-inch display with a bigger battery, better chipset and extra cameras at the rear doubling the numbers of cameras. Let’s see how much of upgrade the Nokia 3.1 Plus actually is.

Nokia 3.1 Plus is sporting a massive 6.0-inch IPS LCD panel with a screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels(268ppi) with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The front facing camera at the top bezel, just beside the speaker grill is equipped with an LED flash. The vertically placed rear camera is also equipped with an LED flash underneath as well with the fingerprint sensor jot far behind – something that was not in the Nokia 3.1. The front of the device is covered with glass while the body is made of aluminium. It weighs 180 grams and measures 8.2mm in thickness with Blue, White and Grey as the available colour options.

Nokia 3.1 Plus Camera Review

A single front-facing 8MP camera sits at the top bezel with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash for low light shots. It also has HDR and is capable of 720p video recording at 30fps. The dual camera is a combination of a 13MP main shooter with f/2.0 aperture and AF accompanied by a secondary 5MP depth sensor camera with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera also features an LED flash, HDR and Panorama. 1080p video recording is possible with the rear camera but at a maximum of 30fps.

Nokia 3.1 Plus Hardware and Software

The Nokia 3.1 Plus is rocking the MediaTek 12nm SoC; Helio P22 which has an octa-core processor with PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics/gaming. It comes in two configurations; 2GB RAM Varun with 16GB of Internal storage and a 3GB variant with 32GB of Internal storage, Both of which have support for a microSD card, up to 400GB. This device is an Android One device and as such runs Android 8.1 Oreo with no UI overlays. Just pure stock Android, with a promised upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Powering this device is a 3,500mAh battery, obviously with no fast charging. It does have 4G LTE, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, Bluetooth, GPS, built-in FM radio, a Micro USB 2.0 Port and NFC for some variants only.

The device costs around £150/$170 which is approximately N60,000 for the bigger 3GB/32GB while the smaller 2GB/16GB costs below that.
