Nokia might have just created their best smartphone yet, the Nokia 8 Sirocco was unveiled in Barcelona at the 2018 Mobile World Congress among other flagships. The device is currently Nokia’s flagship device come with high-end specs and features.

Although people were expecting the tech giant to release the much anticipated Nokia 9. But Nokia turned the table, releasing a Sirocco edition of the Nokia 8 which is a total package. Want to know more? Stay with me.

Nokia 8 Sirocco DESIGN

It looks like they got their inspiration from the Galaxy Note 8, because the Nokia 8 Sirocco looks totally different from what we typical see from Nokia. The Android One  powered smartphone sports dual rear camera and has an Aluminium Alloy unibody that’s covered in glass.

The fingerprint scanner is visible in the middle as well for easy access, while the dual-LED flash is beside the dual Zeiss shooters. It’s IP67 certified, meaning it’s partially dust and water resistant but not entirely. It has no 3.5mm jack and measures just 7.5 mm slim in thickness.

DISPLAY

So finally, Nokia went totally bezel-less with the Nokia 8 Sirocco. The phone got up to 81.3% screen to body ratio, making it the first Nokia smartphone to cross the 80% mark. But nonetheless, the top bezel still houses its usual features. It sports a curved 5.5-inch QHD P-OLED capacitive touchscreen that is amazingly stunning.

It boasts of 2560 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 534 pixels per inch density bringing out all the details on the screen. The screen on the Nokia 8 Sirocco could easily compete with other flagships from top brands. Protecting the screen is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 offering scratch resistant.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

It houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 835 chip with Octa-core processor. The processor has a 64-bit CPU architecture and reaches a clock speed of 2.45 GHz. It has a 10nm process technology for fast performance while the Adreno 560 graphics processor handles graphics and clocks at 710 MHz.

There should be no problem multitasking with the Nokia 8 Sirocco as it boasts a whopping 6GB RAM and reaches a memory speed of 1866 MHz. You can play the most demanding games and multitask through them all with the Nokia 8 Sirocco. In terms of storage, it has a plenty 128GB space which is upgradeable up to 256GB. Nokia 8 Sirocco runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Two is always better than one, the dual rear 13MP + 12MP shooters has an aperture lens of f/1.8. There’s a dual-LED flash by the side to improve photographs taken in the dark. The cameras come with lots of quality features and wide angle lenses capturing images of 4K resolution. There’s a standard 5MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking cute selfies.

BATTERY

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is powered by a Non-Removable Li-Po 3260mAh battery. It comes with the fast charging feature and Qi wireless charging as well.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available for about $799 from March, that’s about (N230,000 – N270,000). You will be able to get the device in major online and offline stores when it finally launches.
