Nokia X5 has finally been launched by HMD Global in China with the notch display. The X5 is the second Nokia smartphone to come with the trending notched screen.
The device is AI-powered, thanks to the Helio P60 chip underneath. It also sports dual rear cameras for photography with the two usual storage variants to choose from. Let’s find out more.

Design and Display
It has an aluminium alloy overall unibody just like the X6 we saw earlier from the company. Nokia went for the usual design here and crafted the device to perfection. There’s a rear fingerprint scanner in the normal position for quick access.
The vertically placed dual cameras at the top middle sit on top alongside the LED flash as well. Turning to the sides, you’ll see it is 8.1mm thick and weighs 160g overall. It was introduced in Copper, Tempered Blue and Black.
We saw the notch display first on the X6 when it was released as the first Nokia smartphone with the feature. However, it looks like the notch is obviously thicker compared to the one on the X6.
Nonetheless, the 5.86-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of 720 x 1520 pixels in resolution and 294 pixels per inch density. The screen also got all the way to 84% screen-to-body ratio thanks to the notch.
Hardware and Software
The Helio P60 chip from MediaTek brings along its 12nm FinFET process node. You also get the octa-core processor reaching a speed of 2.0GHz. While the ARM Mali-G72 MP3 graphics processor handles graphics.
For multitasking and storing files, you get to choose between two options. There’s one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage space. While the expensive variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. It also runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo.

It’s equipped with dual 13MP + 5MP rear shooters, the first 13MP camera on the top has a f/2.2 aperture, while the 5MP shooter helps in background blur. There’s an AI-powered 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture, 80-degree wide viewing angle and beautify.
Network, Battery and Availability
The X5 supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It also has support for Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB port, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.
The Nokia X5 is powered by a removable Li-Ion 3060mAh battery with fast charging technology. Nokia X5 will be available on shopping stores, starting from $149 to $209, that’s about (N50,000 – N70,000).
