Nokia X71 Price in Nigeria and Full Specifications Review

After the announcement of the Nokia 9 PureView at MWC 2019 by HMD Global recently, the company as follow up unveiled a new Nokia smartphone – Nokia X71; The first Nokia smartphone with a punch-hole camera cutout at the top left side of the display.

The Nokia X71 has a 6.39-inch IPS LCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, a triple rear camera, one of which is a 48MP sensor and a 3,500mAh battery capacity with fast battery charging. It is also reportedly going to be named Nokia 8.1 Plus when it leaves the Asian market for the Global consumers.

Nokia X71 Design And Display

The design of the device follows HMD’s tradition with their other smartphone Lineup. At the back is the triple rear camera setup placed at the top centre with the fingerprint sensor below it and an LED flash at the side. Both the front and back of the Nokia X71 is made of glass with aluminium frame along the sides.

The display stands tall at 6.39-inch of an IPS LCD panel with slim bezels all around and most importantly, not notch. The camera takes the top left corner of the device in a punch-hole cutout. Overall, the device weighs 180grams and measures 8mm in thickness. For now, Black is the Only colour options but hopefully, more arrive soon. It has a dual Nano SIM slot and storage space is expandable.

Nokia X71 Camera Review

Nokia X71 is packed with cameras, mostly at the back. The rear camera comprises of three different sensors. The main camera is an a48MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, accompanied by a secondary 8MP ultrawide camera and lastly, a 5MP depth sensor camera with an f/2.4 aperture for sensing the depth of field in portrait shots. The rear camera is equipped with Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash, Panorama and HDR. It can even shoot 4k and 1080p videos at 30fps while the single front-facing 16MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture can only shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.

Hardware and Software

HMD opted for the Snapdragon 660 SoC for the Nokia X71 which has an Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with Adreno 512 GPU for gaming. There is 6GB of RAM for multitasking and 128GB of storage for files which can be expanded further through a microSD card of up to 256GB. Just like every other Nokia device, this is in the Android One family and is running Android 9.0 Pie out of the box so constant 2 years worth of software updates and 3 years worth of security patches is in tow.

Battery & Network Connectivity

The battery here is of a 3,500mAh capacity equipped with an 18W fast battery charging (Quick Charge 3.0) through it’s USB Type-C port which can also transfer files. It also has 4G LTE connectivity, dual-band WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, GPS, Bluetooth and the almost extinct 3.5mm jack.

Nokia X71 is priced at TWD 11,900 which is approximately $385. It is most likely the same price it will be when it leaves Taiwan for the global market under the name Nokia 8.1 Plus.
