Nubia Red Magic 5G Debuts with Snapdragon 865 and 144Hz display

Nubia is back with the latest gaming smartphone off their Red Magic lineup. The new Nubia Red Magic 5G debuts with an impressive spec such as a 144Hz refresh rate display, 16GB RAM paired with Snapdragon 865 chipset and storage capacity up to 256GB UFS 3.0.

As its name implies, the device comes with a dual-mode 5G connectivity. Gamers will fall in love with the highly sophisticated active air cooling system features in the phone. The system combines a heat-sink chamber with a spinning fan. According to the company, the combination reduces CPU temperature by up to 18°C. The cooling system not only works when gaming, but it also works when the phone is been charged at its peak 55W speed.

The Nubia Red Magic packs an AMOLED display which measures 6.65-inch in size and features 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. At the top bezel are an 8MP selfie shooter and an inbuilt optical fingerprint scanner. Aside from the 144Hz refresh rate in the display, there is also a 240Hz touch-sensing rate. This ensures gaming on supported titles and buttery-smooth interaction.

At the back is an aluminium enclosed which features a triple camera. The camera composition is a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. For gaming lovers, there is an RGB light panel which gives extravagant lighting effects.

Another great gaming feature is the capacitive shoulder triggers with an impressive 300Hz sampling rate. Battery capacity is at 4,500 mAh with a 55W fast charging support. The device runs on Red Magic skin which sits on top of the Android 10 operating system.

The device will launch in three body colours; Black, Cyber Neon and Mars Red. There is a transparent limited edition. Pre-order starts today in China with the official sale to begin on March 19. Global release is expected to be around April.

The base model of 8/128GB will go for $540. The 12/128GB model for $585, while the 12/256GB will be available at $625. Then finally the 16/256GB variant will cost you $712. The transparent edition which is limited will sell for $655 (12/256 GB) and $740 (16/256GB).
