The F11 Pro was recently launched in Nigeria as one of the first devices to be introduced in Nigeria by the Chinese phones maker-OPPO. The F11 Pro has a lot to brag about starting from the impressive notch-less screen, a 48MP main camera, as well as a pop-up selfie camera and 20W VOOC charging.
The Oppo F11 Pro is an instant eye-catcher and a looker. It will surely impress with its stunning looking gradient back design that sort of reflects light beautifully. The unit we got has a Thunder Black of Aurora Green colour and after using it for some time, here is our unboxing and comprehensive review.

The Oppo F11 Pro Unboxing
The device is housed in a white box containing an inscription of the brand name, the model name and an image of the phone itself. Upon removing the box, you are immediately greeted with the phone. Other accessories inside the package include an earphone, a transparent back cover, some literature works, wall adapter charger and a USB cable.
Oppo F11 Pro Design
Oppo is known for making captivating smartphones and the F11 Pro is no difference, the device comes in either triple-color or dual-color gradient depending on which model you buy. But our unit has a Thunder Black of Aurora Green and is beautiful to behold with its indistinguishably dazzling glass-like appearance.
The Oppo F11 Pro measures 161.3 x 76.1 x 8.8 mm in dimension and weighs about 190 g. At the back of the Oppo F11 Pro is a single LED flash followed by a 5MP depth sensor and a 48MP camera sensor. The 48MP camera is the main sensor here and shoots photos in 12MP. The 5MP secondary lens is the one that produces background burring photos.
There is a fingerprint scanner at the back asides the Face unlock that comes integrated with the phone, so in case you want a more secure way of locking your phone-the fingerprint sensor is always capable.
The 3.5mm audio jack has been moved to the bottom to give enough room got the pop-up camera. Also, you will find the noise-cancellation mic, the USB 2.0 port that supports Oppo proprietary VOOC fast charge followed by the speaker which sounds really well during our test. It is loud and produces satisfactory audio quality.
The earphone also produces decent sound quality with little or non-existent distortion.
At the top part of the phone, there is a noise-cancelling mic follow by the pop-up camera and the ambient light sensor.
The Volume controller buttons, the hybrid SIM slot and the power buttons are placed at the sides and they are very tactile. You can either use two nano-sims or one Nano sim and a micro sd card since it comes with a hybrid SIM.
The display
The display still offers an impressive 90.9% screen-to-body ratio, not completely bezel-less because Oppo was still able to fit the earpiece on the top bezel. This might be mistaken for a speaker though but it still does the job excellently well.
The 6.53-inch full HD+ LCD display (2,340 x 1,080) which is not as vibrant as some of the higher resolution AMOLED displays found on top-tier flagships, produces an immersive experience. It is a joy to use, especially for gaming, watching videos and all multi-media content in general. I found the display to be of good quality overall, with fantastic colours, great viewing angles, and good brightness.
So, the selfie snapper is now on a motorized pop-up module and it works like the ones we’ve seen on a couple of Vivo phones. If Face Unlock is enabled, it will pop up every time you wake up the screen. So I will advise you use the fingerprint scanner any time you want to unlock the phone because honestly, I don’t know how safe the pop-up mechanism is.
Software
The Oppo F11 Pro runs on Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6 on top. ColorOS has undergone many upgrades in the past and now we have a drawer which is a good thing.
Icons are large and intuitive. I also like how well the app icons blend with other apps on the Android ecosystem. ColorOS is colourful as the name suggests. I found the shortcuts and the brightness slider in the notification to be very helpful
Performance
The device is powered by the capable Helio P70 processor. The Helio P70 comprises of an Arm Cortex-A73/A53 octa-core CPU couple with an impressive Arm Mali-G72 class GPU. The CPU is built on the TSMC 12nm FinFET production process, which is up to 15% power friendly than its predecessor.
There is 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which are more than adequate for all the task-demanding activities we threw at it. Apps and games load pretty fast and we didn’t experience any form of lag during the time we had the device.
For gamers, there is a performance boost feature called Hyper Boost which enhances the performance during gaming as well.
Benchmark
We ran some some benchmark apps-Antutu and Geekbench on the phone, below are the results. It has over 148k on Antutu, 1550 single-core score and 5950 multi-core score on Geekbench.
Camera Quality
The Oppo F11 Pro comes with a 48MP rear camera that uses Quad-Bayer-like technology that combines four adjacent pixels into one. This produces sharper 12MP photos that have plenty of detail and less noise.
Like I said before, there is a 5MP camera which is used for taking portraits. For all your selfies, there is 16MP sensor with a f/2.0 lens which pops up every time you toggle the camera to the front snapper. There is no LED flash here, and no autofocus as well
The camera interphase is pretty simple with just three major modes, namely Photo, Portrait and Video – and you can easily swipe between them. There is a special feature called Chroma Boost which is like an advanced HDR mode. When activated it produces a more pleasing to the eyes photos with some improvements in the dynamic range.
Below are some camera samples from the device

Battery Life
The Oppo F11 Pro has a huge 4,000mAh battery which comes with VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The charger that came with the device can charge the phone from zero to 100% in about 90 minutes. After a full charge, the 4,000mAh battery didn’t disappoint as it lasts through a full day of social media, emails, YouTube, gaming, and some light web browsing.
On some occasions, we didn’t even recharge the device until the following day which confirms how capable the battery is.
Verdict
The Oppo F11 Pro is an interesting device that will definitely get a stare in the public. The innovative Pop-up camera paving way for an immersive full-screen experience, the VOOC fast charge and the gorgeous Aurora design are some of the features that distinguish the F11 Pro from the Competition.
If you are a stylish individual, the Oppo F11 Pro is a perfect companion that you need. The device currently retails for around N139,000 in Nigeria and is available in retail outlets in the country.
