Oppo has launched two new smartphones into the Chinese market – Oppo Reno 3 and Oppo Reno 3 Pro as successors to the Reno 2 Series
Both of the Reno 3 devices have similar features with the main difference being their chipset. The display is a 6.4 inches AMOLED touchscreen with 1080p, 20:9 aspect ratio and 402 PPI density. The Reno 3 Pro display features a 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch detection rate. This will reduce the lagging and increase gaming performance. Underneath their displays is the fingerprint reader.
The selfie camera of the Reno 3 is featured in its waterdrop notch. While the Pro version, doesn’t come with a waterdrop notch, but a punch-hole design. Regardless of where the camera is located, they both have the same 32 MP snapper.
At the back, is a four-camera module setup on both devices. The camera settings of the Reno 3 Pro is a 48 MP main, 13 MP telephoto, 8 MP ultrawide and 2 MP black & white sensors. Whereas, for the Reno 3, it features a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, 2 MP black & white sensor and a 2 MP sensor.
Hardware-wise, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC built on a 7nm manufacturing process technology. While the Oppo Reno 3 is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000L SoC also built on 7nm manufacturing process tech. Both Oppo phones run on the company’s ColorOS 7 software built on Android 10.
Battery life is the same on the Reno 3 lineup, they both pack a 4,025 mAh battery capacity. And supports VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 which can get you 50% in just 20 minutes of charging.
The two phones will be available in White, Black, Starry Night Blue, and Sunrise body colour options. The Oppo Reno 3 is priced at $485/€440 for the 8/128 GB option and $530/€475 for the 12/128GB. It will be available for purchase in the Chinese market from December 31.
While pre-orders for the Oppo Reno 3 Pro starts on that same day and will be available from January 10. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro pricing is at $570/€515 for the 8GB/128GB storage and $640/€580 for the 12/256GB storage.
