Poco has officially entered the mid-range segment of the market with the new M2 Pro. At this point, it is not surprising to see that the device is almost identical to the Redmi Note 9 Pro which is sold globally as “Redmi Note 9S”.
The Poco F2 Pro is built around a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole carved at the top middle. The hole houses a 16MP selfie camera. At the side of the device is a fingerprint reader for biometric security.
Moving to the back, we have a quad-camera system in a square-shaped module. The system consists of a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. Under the module is a LED flashlight.
Powering the mid-range smartphone is the gaming-oriented Snapdragon 720G chipset with 2.3 GHz Octa-core processor and Adreno 618 GPU. The phone will be available in three body colours with weird naming – Out Of The Blue, Two Shades Of Black and Green and Greener.
In terms of pricing, the base model of 4/64 GB will cost $185/€165, followed by the 6/64 GB option for $200/€175 while the 6/128 GB goes for $225/€200. The first round of sales is expected to take place in India on July 14 at 12 PM. Indian e-commerce company Flipkart has the exclusive rights to the smartphone.
