The Redmi 12 5G is an upgraded version of the Red 12 released earlier with 4G. It has the same back design made of glass with a plastic frame. The phone also has an IP53 dust and splash resistance rating. It weighs around 199 grams, making it lightweight in hand. The fingerprint scanner is placed by the side and has a loudspeaker and a headphone port. 

It has a large 6.79 inches IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1080P resolution. The Corning Gorilla Glass protects the display and can reach up to 550 nits of brightness outdoors. It has an 85% screen-to-body ratio, which means the bezels around the display are noticeably thick. It is responsive to touch or smooth while gaming or watching content. 

The phone runs Android 13, and MUI 14 is the user interface. It is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 with up to 8 gigs of RAM and 256 storage space. Performance is smooth on the phone and can be used for gaming.
