Xiaomi Redmi 7A Design And Display

Redmi 7A

Redmi 7A has a pretty decent design with P2i splash resistant certificate which means it has a water-repellent nanocoating to keep splashes of water away. At the back of the device is the single rear camera with a ring around it and LED flash right below it. There is also no fingerprint sensor on this device – not at the back, side and definitely not underneath the display. Speaking of the display, it is a 5.45-inch of an IPS LCD Panel with an HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezel at the top houses the front facing camera while the chin below the display had the Redmi namr on it.

At the right side of the device are the volume buttons and Power button while the left side had the dual SIM card slot and a dedicated MicroSD card slot for additional storage. Colour options available for the Redmi 7A are Black and Blue.

Redmi 7A Camera Review

Redmi 7A has a total of 2 cameras; one at the back and one up front for selfies. The one at the back is a 13MP camera with PDAF and an LED flash for low light shots while an 8MP camera sits above the display for selfies with no LED flash.

Hardware and Software

Redmi 7A uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC which has an octa-core processor clocked at 1.95GHz paired with an Adreno 505 GPU for gaming and graphics. This is hooked up to either 2GB or 3GB of RAM with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage respectively. Additional storage is also possible through the dedicated MicroSD card slot that can accommodate up to 256GB. As expected, it runs MIUI 10 out of the box which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.

Battery and Connectivity

A 4,000mAh battery powers the Redmi 7A. No word on fast charging though. Charging and file transfer is done through the micro USB port. Other features of the Redmi 7A includes 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Infrared Port aka IR Blaster and a 3.5mm jack.
