Samsung Galaxy A51 is Samsung’s attempt at an upper mid-range smartphone, bridging the gap better flagships and mid-range smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a pretty decent spec sheet and features which includes a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, Exynos 9611 SoC with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and a 64GB or 128GB internal storage respectively.

It also has a quad-camera setup at the rear and the single front-facing camera takes up the punch hole at the top of the display. A 4,000mAh battery is also one of this device’s strong suit with fast charging. Let’s find out more.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Design And Display

This device is rocking a really big 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display which has accurate and vivid colours as well as deep blacks. It also has a punch hole at the top of the display which houses the front-facing camera. Underneath the display lies the optical fingerprint sensor for biometric unlock. As usual, we have a chin at the bottom which is slightly thicker than the forehead.

Turning the device over the back reveals one of the major highlights of this device; the quad-camera setup along with an LED flash. Below that towards the bottom lies the Samsung name. Unfortunately, the back of the device, as well as the frame, is made of plastic while the display is covered with a Corning gorilla glass 3.

The whole device with the battery inside it weighs 172grams and measures 7.9mm in thickness. Colour options available for the Samsung Galaxy A51 are Prism, Crush Black, White, Blue and Pink. It also comes in both a single SIM and dual SIM variant, both of which has a dedicated microSD card slot for additional stores.

We have a total of fives camera on the Samsung Galaxy A51; one of which is at the front while the rest are at the back. Starting off with the one at the front is a 32MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and HDR, capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.

At the rear lies a combination of four cameras; a 48MP main camera with an f/2.2 aperture and PDAF, a 12MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture (which also doubles a dedicated macro camera) and lastly, a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.2 aperture for Portrait shots.

The quad rear camera setup is equipped with an LED, Panorama and HDR. It is also capable of shooting 2160p videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30/60/120fps with gyro-EIS.

Hardware and Software

Samsung went with their In-House Exynos 9611 Chipset for the Samsung Galaxy A51. This Chipset has an octa-core processor clocking speeds of up to 2.3GHz paired with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU for gaming. This device comes in three different RAM and storage options which includes; 4GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB of storage or 6GB RAM with 128GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy A51 also has a dedicated microSD card slot which can accommodate up to 1TB of additional storage, just in case you were running out of storage space. It runs the latest Android 10 operating system out of the box which is laced with Samsung’s One UI 2.0.

Battery and Connectivity

This device packs a 4,000mAh battery on the inside equipped with a 15W fast battery charging through its USB Type-C port for a quick refill when depleted.

4G LTE connectivity which can be used on both SIM slots is present on this device. It also has Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, FM radio and a 3.5mm jack. For payments, there is also NFC on board for that.
