The Galaxy S20 Ultra is by far the best premium smartphone by Samsung. It leads the new generation of Samsung flagship entering the new decade.
The phone has the biggest display size (6.9-inch) among the S20 lineup. Its Dynamic AMOLED panel features 1440p+ resolution and HDR10+. Underneath the display is the ultrasonic fingerprint reader. The screen also features 240Hz touch sensing and 120Hz refresh rate.
The base memory configuration for the Galaxy S20 Ultra is 12GB RAM with 128GB. The maximum RAM size is 16GB which is the industry’s first. The maximum storage is just 128GB. You’re going to have to make use of the microSD slot if you’re shooting with the 108MP at 8K resolution.
The camera department is a key innovative aspect of this smartphone. The main camera sports a large 108MP lens with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera uses a 9-in-1 pixel binning to capture 12MP photos. It is capable of recording video in 8K resolution just like the Galaxy S20+. It features the Super Steady 2.0 for professional-level filming.
Next is the telephoto camera which uses the company’s first periscope lens. The camera features a 48MP sensor and supports 4-in-1 pixel binning. According to Samsung, the camera features 10x hybrid zoom and 100x Super-Resolution Zoom. For comparison, the telephoto camera of the Galaxy S20+ features 3x hybrid zoom, 30x Super-Resolution Zoom.
The other two cameras consist of a 12MP ultrawide angle sensor and DepthVision sensor. There is a software in the camera of the Galaxy S20 Ultra called “Single Take Feature”. This feature captures photos from all four cameras simultaneously and then uses the onboard AI to recommend the best photo to keep.
The selfie camera also gets a major upgrade and features a 40MP snapper with higher resolution sensor which enables pixel binning of 4-in-1 to 10MP photos. Aside from phones that use their main camera for selfies, this is the highest resolution dedicated to a selfie camera in the industry.
