Samsung just revealed their new rugged tablet. The successor to the Galaxy Tab Active comes with S Pen support and features Bixby voice assistant. The South Korean company added lots of specs to the new tablet, with stronger body, powerful processor and offers twice the RAM of its predecessor.
Design
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 tablet boasts a rugged design for rough users. It is absolutely a tablet you can rely on when you are out and about, with little worries of it getting damaged. It passed the military grade MIL-STD 810G testing for toughness and durability. The tablet also has an IP68 rating providing water and dust resistance.

Display
The display is still the same with its 2014 predecessor, and it’s quite a disappointment. The 8-inch display on the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 offers 1,280×800 pixels of resolution. The display also allows touch while wearing gloves. The fingerprint sensor is mounted at the front, on the home button.
Hardware and Software
The tablet packs an Exynos 7880 chipset and an Octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz with 3GB of RAM which is twice the size of the RAM on its predecessor. There’s a 16GB storage upgradeable to 256GB with microSD, so you don’t have to ever delete your important files. It runs smoothly on the 7.1.1 Android Nougat operating system.
Camera
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 has an improved camera and for a tablet. Its 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, autofocus, HDR, Geo-tagging, Face Detection features can do all the camera magic you want on a tablet. For video calling and selfie, the 5MP in the front is up to the task.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is powered by a Li-Ion 4,450 mAh battery.
