Samsung has made another big announcement. This time, it for the Indian market. The Korean Tech giant has announced the manufacture of a new mid-range Exynos 7904 System on chip (SoC) designed specifically for the Indian market. With this announcement, the companies’ mid-range and entry-level devices will have a fair share of the Indian market against their overpriced Chinese competitor’s. Samsung said that the new SoC will deliver a high-end feature in an affordable package.
The SoC is built with 14nm node and this will give the company some advantage with the pricing. The SoC will run on octa-core CPU consisting of two big – Cortex A73 cores with a speed of 1.8GHz and Cortex 53 cores with speed of 1.6GHz. The Cortex 53 will be more energy efficient. The LTE modem supports up to 600mbps of download speed or cat 12.
A single – camera module of up to 32MP or triple – camera setup with high-end features can be handled by the ISP that is seen on the board. The Exynos 7904 will support 1080p video capture at 120fps or 4k at 30fps.
Samsung has promised nice and good multimedia performance, seamless multitasking, hitch-free web browsing and reliable/ speedy mobile connection without attaching a premium price to it. With the latest update from Samsung, we should expect the Exynos 7904 to show up any moment from now as the company have started the mass production of the chip.
