Meet Samsung W2018 first flip phone-The most Expensive Samsung Phone

Samsung W2018 Review

Samsung just released their new expensive flip smartphone ever, the Samsung W2018 is an upgrade to last year’s W2017. Samsung launched the device during an event in China, as the company celebrates the 10th anniversary of the W series.

The new flip device is very expensive and priced more than three times of their global flagships, S8 and Note 8. Samsung W2018 comes with Bixby just like the Galaxy S8. One would ask why the device is priced at a whopping price of  $2499, but let’s look at the specs review below.

Samsung W2018 DESIGN

I’m up for a vintage look on smartphones, but I don’t think I would ever use a flip phone, again! The device sports a gold and platinum overall look, with its fingerprint scanner spotted at the back. The fingerprint sensor was strategically placed beside the camera, just like the S8.

Samsung W2018

The smartphone was designed to be extremely stronger than what we have been used to with flip phones. It is also as bulky as expected, weighing 247g and is 15.9mm thick. The device is available in Black, but you can still get the limited version in Gold and Silver at a higher price.

Samsung W2018  DISPLAY

Samsung W2018 sports dual 4.2-inch Full HD AMOLED screen, one at the front and another when you flip open. There’s also a dedicated Bixby button for voice assistance. The compact screen boasts of 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution. The dual display is one if the highlight of the device, and with the feature, you can do more in little time. Both screens are of course protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass.

The W2018 houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with an Octa-core processor. The graphics processing unit on the smartphone is a Qualcomm Adreno as well. For multitasking and app launching, it boasts of 6GB RAM.

For saving your files, there’s a 64GB internal storage space available for you, which is upgradeable to 256GB. Samsung W2018 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 OS upgradeable to Nougat OS.

Samsung W2018 CAMERA

Another highlight of the W2018 is the camera, and I’m pretty sure photographers would love it. It sports a 12MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.7, which captures sharp images in less light. The aperture is most likely the same as the one in the Galaxy S8, so be ready to capture amazing photos.

At the front, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter with f/1.9 lens. But when there’s not enough light, the lens switches to f/2.4 and capture more details in the background. Take selfies any day and anytime with the Samsung W2018, thanks to the improved 5MP front selfie camera.

The Samsung W2018 is powered by a 2,300mAh Non-removable battery.

Samsung W2018 is available for just $2499, that’s about N920,000 – N950,000.
